Sonic X Shadow Generations Review - IGN

Sonic X Shadow Generations reviewed by Jada Griffin on PlayStation 5. Also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox, Switch, and PC. Sonic X Shadow Generations takes an already excellent game and spring jumps it to new heights at a blistering pace by doubling up the campaign length with creative level design, fantastic bosses, plenty of collectibles, and an appreciable graphical upgrade. While the brand-new Shadow content isn't necessarily long on its own, it adds a nice change of pace to the collection of all-time great Sonic stages Generations already contained, and there’s an exciting new story that’s filled in as you explore the overworld for collectibles, activities, and challenges. This bulked-up remaster soars far and above previous enhanced versions we've gotten in the Sonic franchise, and hopefully will be the gold standard Sega holds itself to when it decides to bring back other Sonic games from the past.

I’ll get this for my daughters. My 8 year old is really good at all of the Sonic games including the old ones.

mass disagrees of course

fyi everyone all these sonic games get tossed into a discount bin asap so this person is not wrong on getting a copy to keep a kid happy.

I have beaten this game 2 times already, but I am tempted to give it a 3rd try on current gen consoles. I am still playing through the games I recently bought but I will try to pick this up before the end of the year. I am also happy that the reviewer didn't continue that lie about Sonic not doing 3D platforming right. Sonic has been doing excellent 3D for years now.

I means it's the same company that makes you buy gold versions of games if you want the new content so it checks out.

ZycoFox6d ago

It also means you have to buy a game key card if you want a physical copy, screwed over either way.

NotoriousWhiz5d ago

Fake physical. I'd be curious how many opt for that over just buying the digital copy.

Eonjay5d ago

You also have to rebuy any DLC.

GAMERJET5d ago

It's time to wake up. Don't support this practice or the price of the games on Switch 2.

Profchaos5d ago

I don't know what Sega is thinking here especially when they already offer the upgrade free on PlayStation and Xbox for the same game
