The development of Xbox Game Studios and Rare's action adventure game, Everwild, is coming along well, based on the latest report.
A game that had been thought cancelled or at the very least in development hell, Rare’s Everwild has resurfaced of late – first through comments last week on Jez Corden & Rand Al Thor’s Xbox Two podcast that it was finally “progressing well”. We’ve now had confirmation from Phil Spencer himself that Everwild is indeed still in active development, and is in a playable state.

Phill played Crackdown 3, Redfall and Halo Infinite before it got a delay, when the game was dead set on its original release date YET they ended up being either bad or average.
It’s not anyone’s fault the thought process on these things is steeped in skepticism, Microsoft has brought that on themselves…yet you wouldn’t know that because you give them a pass for everything while spinning anything bad into a good thing. If people like yourself called them out from the start then maybe things could have been different.

Early game announcements by studios aren´t meant only to entice and attract gamers and gaming media´s interest in a game, but also and mainly aimed at new developers that might want to join their ranks.
It´s an industry standard.

It´s not that simple. Like I said, it´s an industry standard for a reason.
To get a game announced in early stages of development takes strategy and methodical evaluation for people in high places, since it costs a lot of money, manpower, time and resources.
For instance, didn´t Sony just announced a new *next gen* espionage-action game by Kojima Productions?

Kojima´s Death Stranding 2 doesn´t even have a release date, he and his team still got O.D to release on Xbox next, and his new next gen game had already been announced even without a project name.

I knew you would go there so I answered your question in my first response. It's too early when anyone does it. Sony was name dropping kojima to get ahead of xbox's OD announcement, so I kind of get that one... but I just don't like announcements before 3 years from release.

It's been a few years since we last heard from Rare about its new IP Everwild, but executive producer Louise O'Connor says the team is looking to "warm up... for our year ahead.
I feel like its been 10 years since they announced everwild...I wonder if they've figured out what the game will actually be yet lol.
Good to know it's still in development but weird we know nothing about it years from when it was announced.
Hopefully will see it at e3 this yr.
Don't worry, when we all died our grand kids will get to see this game reveal with a teaser trailer.
The next few years are looking good for Xbox fans.
For me I was really looking forward to Redfall. Not only is it right around the corner, but the little gameplay I’ve seen looks promising.

Began development around 2014, announced 5 years later in November 2019, and now we're in October 2024, and its still far away from launch. This is a serious problem with Microsoft promising games, but they either get canceled (Scalebound, Project Spark), or they take so long to come out, they don't even release on the console they were originally promised for (Perfect Dark, Everwild).
They string you along for half a decade (or more!) promising these games, but often times, they are let downs, then the cycle repeats. Promise games, take so damn long to come out, let down, repeat.
Not surprised tho, Microsoft probably been giving them a hard time
