Killzone 2 Helghast characters inspired from Japanese saga

Ever wonder whats under that mask and what makes those glowing red eyes so glowing red? Who could of came up with this red eyed menace? Apparently Guerrilla Games had some inspiration when deciding to implement this character into their game. Someone in the office must of been a huge fan of Japanese entertainment.

Apparently the Helghast were based on the Kerberos Protect-Gear as they were called in a novel/movie series written and directed by Mamoru Oshii. The series dates back to 1986 with the latest installment being a movie released in 2007 with another set for this year.
