Silent Hill 2 Remake Review Embargo Details Revealed

Details on the review embargo for Konami/Bloober Team’s remake of its classic survival horror game, Silent Hill 2, have been revealed.

I’m absolutely excited to play this game. Dumb character design decisions aside, I really feel like Bloober gets it. Let’s put it this way, it has to be better than all the other western developed SH games… right?

I’m not expecting this to be better than the original, but I’m hoping to get some semblance and enjoy it as a fresh experience regardless of the purists. Been a Silent Hill fan since the PS1 days and I’m glad the series is getting some spotlight.

I softened a lot on it after getting SH2 running on Steamdeck in it's original form. I wish they would just release an accurate port alongside it, so people can still legally choose the original. I dislike the idea of erasing the past.

But with all that said, it does seem really promising. And yeah, it's nice that stuff is happening and that they actually seem to care.

Yo did you use emudeck? Going to add Silent Hill for PS1 and PS2 and then scrape the cover art. I have them on the original hardware but its very convenient to have them all on one system plus I get to play in bed.

I played it on Steamdeck this time. Same with 1. There's a church scene in 1 where it crashes. You can solve it by running the game as vanilla as possible :).

I also have the originals. But wanted to use a wireless controller. And my ps2 sounds like a jet engine these days.

There are a couple of streamers on Twitch I watch who play horror games and speed run horror games. When they play the game that's when I will base my decision.

That's how I feel. I never played the original and I hope this turns out good.

I'm confident this will be the best full Silent Hill game we've received since Silent Hill 4.
