PlayStation 5 Pro Has No Trouble Pushing 120 FPS Gameplay Even Without Optimization and PSSR - Rumor

The PlayStation 5 Pro could easily be a 1440p, 120 FPS machine, as some games can push above 100+ FPS without any optimization.

There are already some HFR modes on PS5 OG so this isn't really news. COD for example as well as other games like unlocked Spiderman and whatnot. One assumes they would just be locked 120 or close too it with just the extra grunt the GPU provides.

So far i want to see what it can achieve on GTA6 and Ghost 2.

I doubt that. Starfield is a CPU intensive game, and the PS5 Pro's CPU is still based on Zen 2. Be happy it can stay at 60FPS.

AMD silently released the mobile GPU the PS5 Pro is based on the RX 7800m, so soon we’ll be able to see what the GPU / PS5 Pro should be capable of.

The Switch 2 has my interest somewhat as I want to see how Nintendo implements DLSS into their games, and if they’re bold enough to create a stand-alone external GPU dock for up to 4K resolution scaling for (literally a mobile RTX 3050 would be enough).

I doubt it, but realistically that should be the future of Nintendo handheld device with stand-alone mid-low PC spec dock for external GPU support for higher resolutions on 4K TVs. It saves them from having to invest in two platforms and having a higher initial entry cost and really pure profit. $349 / $399 for the Switch 2 and included basic dock (the current switch is $100 overpriced), and $349 / $399 for a stand-alone Pro dock.

I can see them having a equivalent of a rtx 4050. Probably will see 4k 30fps games in dock mode. 1080p being a focus handheld.

Would he crazy to see Breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom I'm 4k 60 on a switch 2 or 4k with ray tracing.

The 4050 is a 1080p budget GPU.

@Ocelot07

The Switch 2 is supposed to be running on Ampere, which would be the RTX 3000 series which is why I said the RTX 3050 minimum / A2000. Plus they can do a 7nm refresh / 5nm if needed instead of the 8nm.

@DarkHeroZX

The 4050 / 3050 are budget GPUs based on today’s standards, but the Switch 2 native performance should put it in ballpark base PS4 range when it comes to native games. So a dock with something like a RTX 3050 would offer native performance equivalent to something like GTX 1070 at the time (similar to if not better than the Xbox One X), which is more than powerful enough to lift the many PS4 quality games up to 4K @ 30-60fps games, and as a result Switch 1 games.

The 3050
Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusives will likely be 1080p upscaled to 4K using DLSS, and more demanding Cross-Gen PS5/SX/SS games will definitely be 720p at low settings, and using DLSS to upscale to 1440p if possible.

@ABizzel1

I didn't know about it using Ampere. But still with Devs being able to squeeze every drop performance out of a switch 2. Plus with access to DLSS I think 4K docked for some games is achievable.

If only PC hardware could run as efficiently as console hardware.

But in the real world 7800M couldn’t compete even if it shared PS5 Pros hardware AI upscaling and ray tracing.
