PS5 Pro preview: I don't need it, but I want it | Engadget

Engadget writes: "In action, this means games look and feel exceptional on the PS5 Pro. I played a handful of titles on the Pro over two hours at Sony’s San Mateo studio, and many of the setups included a second screen with the game running on existing PS5 hardware, for comparison’s sake. Overall, the standard PS5 games never looked bad, but the Pro screens definitely looked better."

Most outlets that have played it now have made positive sounds, so this in keeping with most people that have actually played it.

Of course it's positive because of the enhanced games they got to play, however, there is an important question they need to answer. Is this worth $700 or are you better off building a ryzen 7600 + rx 6800 or rx 7700 xt PC?

Why would I buy a PC if what I'm looking for is a console and what I'm looking for is the best there is?

DivineHand125234d ago

@repsahj If you are a console-only gamer and will remain a console-only gamer for the rest of your life then I suppose the PS5 Pro is for you, however, the $699 price will make people who don't mind gaming on PC start to wonder if they should start planning their build.

I have a £4k pc rig with a 3090 ftw3 ultra with its own lg c1 oled 48 inch. But I dont enjoy pc gaming. Id much rather game on consoles and find the ps5 to be competitive and a much nicer way to play games. Ive just bought a pro, and compared with pc its chump change.
Theres a lot of gamers who just want to sit on the sofa, switch on and play within a minute. PCs still dont offer that lounge experience and so for many, will never compete. Maybe if the next xbox is a custom PC with a highly modified OS we might start to get that lounge experience, but until then, fir many people, pc is no competition at all.

Hideo Kojima is a little bummed as Death Stranding 2 is testing way better

"I'm not interested in appealing to the mass market, or selling millions of copies."

I’m replaying the first game it’s great. It’s not for everyone no doubt. There are still a lot of people playing it.

Then why do a sequel straight away?

Why not something else like maybe a horror game similar to Silent Hills but rebranded into a new IP.

For some reason this reminds me of issues artist have brought up regarding AI 'art'. Where literally everything is sourced from other artists. Invluding AI art in games seems like a legal nightmare.
