Digital Foundry investigates Final Fantasy 16's PC release. What optimised settings make sense and what can we say about the graphics and perf?
Final Fantasy 16 has likely sold more than 3.5 million copies.
This isn’t news. The analyst could be right or wrong. Square Enix hasn’t said anything.
Doesn’t matter. People will still believe the mistake. How are you an analyst and get it wrong?
Lifetime sales of Square Enix's action role-playing game, Final Fantasy XVI, have reached 3.5 million copies.
A terrible game, but good it sold well then they keep the franchise alive. I hope they do better next time with an RPG and not a dmc clone..
I hope this helps the 'complete' edition go on sale for a huge discount. It went on sale a while ago for only about 25% off but I'm waiting for that 50% off (or higher) sweet spot.
It underperformed because it was on less platforms I get no one wants to admit
That
Players just want to smash wild Chocobos into oblivion.
Final Fantasy 16 was a great game. It had one of the best combat systems out of many JRPGs. It does have some elements of it that could be better, like what the author of this article said. It would have been nice to be able to use fully transformed Eikons at will like in the previous games. I believe the FF13 and FF7 remakes were the last to allow players to do this. Let us hope FF17 will allow players to use summons at will.
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT: There are some other elements story-wise that could have been better. I would have preferred if Clive was more militant, and he rebelled against the non-Bearers much like Spartacus. That would have had me more invested in the story than him not wanting to change the status quo despite the harsh treatment Bearers across the kingdom faced from their slavers. I also think the FF games in general need to start distancing themselves from these bittersweet endings and give us a happier ending. Yes, you defeated the bad guy, but what is the point if the main characters can't enjoy the victory?
Get it on PS5 and PC, or wait for the Xbox Series version. Don't miss this great game!
Why I own a console. Dont care about the best framerates I just want to load up a newly released game and play. Ease of use.
I really been wanting to get this and star wars jedia survivor, I held out on survivor because of the tedious navigating map issues but Ima gone n get it tho n just look at a walk-through if I get stuck no big deal. Ff16 looks so good
It's strange. I've had exceptional performance with a CPU from 2017 (i7-8700) and a 3080 10gb from 2020. @ 1440p DLSS quality and frame gen with everything maxed out. this game is buttery smooth running around 100fps for me. Which is just weird as people with much stronger systems seem to have issues running it smoothly. I can get near 4k 60fps if I have it set to frame gen & balanced dlss. Guess I'm a lucky one lol.
