They want to monopolise the industry and remove consumer ownership.

I actually had faith in Phil at one point. I don't have an xbox but I figured he's (Phil) got to have a long term plan. But nope, he totally sold out the xbox fans by bringing exclusives to ps5 and made the value of the xbox console totally irrelevant.

There is absolutely no reason to buy into the xbox brand now other then maybe software that might be coming to ps5.

I expect xbox to be software only sooner or later.

I actually don't think that's impossible.

Sony came off their best generation with the PS2 and the combination of releasing early while Sony dropped the ball on the roll out and a much better online infrastructure (and better multiplatform games for the first few years) allowed Xbox to come within striking distance of Playstation 3.

Isn't the next Xbox expected to launch 2 years before the PS6? Either way, with a little prep and Sony getting in their own way, Microsoft has a way in. The new studios/publishers and XGP gives them pretty good groundwork for the next Xbox.

No matter what, Sony should be working for your dollars. And coming off this generation, unless they really commit to dropping bangers that aren't remasters/remakes of bangers, I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that Sony walks away with a W.

To your first question, I think Game Pass is in a similar situation as PS5 Pro: the argument is often that you could just get a PC and have a better experience, but there's a market for console gaming.

As for Game Pass and its relationship to developers, I happen to think it's a mixed bag.

Does ABK benefit? No. They would lose a fortune.

Does Capcom benefit? Generally no, but if they're getting experimental, I think so.

Does Atlus benefit? I think yes. The Xbox community really doesn't seem to care about Persona enough to buy it, which is a shame because those games are phenomenal. It's getting paid to put your games on a platform that doesn't care about its content otherwise.

I'm not saying that Xbox is going to take the next generation or that it's even likely. But I am saying that Sony needs to get it together or they risk losing a decent chunk of their community. I hope not (to Xbox anyway) because I absolutely abhor their direction.

I had a friend buy a Core system so he could play while his launch unit was in repair, and kept it in case one would RROD again (which did happen)

So even if we pick the lowest estimate 23.7% of 84.9 million is 20.1 million.

So in reality they really only got to 60 million customers potentially less with the 360.

Which would be in line with their last two attempts.

The only games I've been playing this year on my XBSX are Persona 3 Reload & Flintlock . I started the P3 in Feb & finally finished it in July & just started Aigis Episode yesterday. I also played Flintlock which took 5 hours to beat. Besides P3 & Flintlock there was nothing else this year I played on my XBSX.

The crazy part is that the moment they completely solved the issue of of first party games drought with the acquisition of publishers and studios, they became partly (in the near future fully) multi platform thus diminishing the value of the brand!

This in effect can be seen as a betrayal of the trust of gamers who remained within the xbox ecosystem in the hopes that they will finally start seeing exclusive games being released for their console.

Now they're re-defining it? No, they're just heading in the inevitable first because of the fallout. Theyre not forward thinking or any kind of prognosticator and people need to stop giving them any kind of credit suggesting as such. They're screw ups and the first part of the title leads to the second part of where the industry would have gone had there been a crash. Nintendo isn't looking in that direction as, oddly, Lego Horizons is on Switch but not Xbox, and even more bizarre, I don't know why Freedom Wars is going but PlayStation are using Namco-Bandai to cover up their decision which makes no sense to me either. Why everyone is buddying up with Nintendo who doesn't want to play nice and all of this only inflates their ego is an issie of concern people ought to be concerned about. Nintendo makes the same game just reskinned but, it's the same story, etc.

People are blind. The comments section proves that consumers know better. All the propaganda released trying to make people think Xbox is all ahead of the curve is a form of what's called SOCIAL ENGINEERING. Generally it's a psychological tactic toward the decay of society and pushing a political agenda, but in this sense, Xbox will pay off or infiltrate and insist certain firms write articles or say things to sway peoples opinions. Because money can buy anything. Social Engineering is tactical in it's use as its never outright overbearing, it's subtle, its patient, and it's slow. Its essentially progressive manipulation.

Again,however, people are smarter than that and the comments section knows better which crushes this "writers" credibility. People arent stupid

Well when you're dead last in sales of course you will lose. They've been losing since the XB1 and they are losing with the Xbox Series consoles. They have no exclusives to entice the customer into buying their product. Series S is a waste of money I can understand affordability. But if you need to nerf a game down just to run on the machine then you made a piss poor choice. And now the all digital Series X is showing up too little too late. There proprietary memory is too damn expensive. And the decisions Microsoft has been making with Xbox leaves people wondering what's next for Xbox. Will there be a new console, are they solely focusing on just cloud gaming, do I even want a new Xbox? Even though I hate the machine and will always hate it. Microsoft had it's glory day with the 360. After the 360 they fumbled the ball and have been fumbling it worse with each generation of Xbox. What outcome has come from the Zenimax or Activision purchases? Studio closures, layoffs, a few games that are not that memorable, a few games that have showed up on other systems to try and recoup the money they blew. I'll be surprised if Microsoft produces a next gen system. And even if Microsoft did make a next gen system they will have to persuade me to even waste money to buy a next gen Xbox.
