Astro Bot Isn't A Celebration, It's A Graveyard

The phony conversation online consistently calls for Playstation to bring back their dormant ip. The reality is those games weren't purchased then and they'd be ignored now. I have Astobot pre-ordered (wish it had a vr mode). Lets see now that it's reviewed so well, if gamers are true to their word in wanting Sony to make more of these types of games.

To be fair, I think it's a bad thing that Sony has spent such an enormously long time funding sad dad third person games, open world games and little else. As much as I love all the first party Sony stuff, it is starting to get a little stale.

Ratchet and Astro Bot are all we've got left in platformers. There are zero arcade racing games ala Motorstorm, zero first party shooters ala Resistance/Killzone, zero original Japanese productions ala Gravity Rush, ze- well zero anything else. Can't even get a solid Super Stardust style small scale first party game anymore.

Nobody's saying Ratchet and Clank is being run into the ground. Give us an Ape Escape game in between and I'd be ecstatic! Hopefully this punches them in the teeth and makes them step their game up a bit with some smaller budget games that bring them back to their roots, whether now or for a PS6 launch. Lack of anything like this is why this generation has been genuinely terrible for me and why I've for the first time in my life switched to PC this generation. I don't love it - I miss PlayStation.

Can't wait for tomorrow. It's been too long since we've had something like this

This article should be in a graveyard. Astro Bot is an amazing game and should be enjoyed for what it is. And who knows what Sony has planned.. this could be the way they are introducing the possibility of revitalizing some older franchises. Its ABSOLUTELY a celebration, a joyous one. So you can just not play it, while the rest of us have a blast enjoying it! 🙄 *End Transmission*
