An extract from the Lonpos review by WiiWare World:
"Having been available since WiiWare launched in Japan, Lonpos has been a long time coming. The game itself has been adapted from a popular logic puzzle game of the same name. The question of course is how well does it fare against the many puzzle titles already on WiiWare?
At its core, Lonpos is a pretty basic puzzle game. To complete a stage, the player is required to simply manipulate a set number of shapes (known as Pentominoes) so that they can be successfully placed onto a rectangular 2-dimensional grid, which houses an increasingly smaller amount of shapes already integrated. Taking the role of the singular controller, the Wii remote's motion controls and IR pointer are used to carry out any change to a shape.
Each Pentomino can be rotated in 90° intervals by tilting the remote left or right, whereas pressing and holding the "B" button grabs the shape. Once seized, the player can move the remote to place the shape in a vacant position on the grid, while shapes can also be dropped at the side of the grid so the player can attempt to fit another piece."
Lonpos wouldn't be a bad little puzzle game if it was developed a bit better. Its concept just has a lot of flaws: bad Wii remote controls, a weak set of features, and some completely unnecessary pay-to-play downloadable content. What's left is a central puzzle game that makes for a better supporting mini-game than a title product.

The WiiShop gets another Wiikly update from Nintendo. If only we had more space. Here's the details from Nintendo, with these new games available starting at 9am PST:
WiiWare Releases:
Snowboard Riot (Hudson Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Fantasy Violence, 1,000 Wii Points)
LONPOS (Nintendo, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points)
Virtual Console Release:
Sonic Chaos (SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points)
so many different games they can bring out. and all we get is 1 old game to choose from a week? this is why my wii is more of a dust collector. no n64 releases in so long this is sad! they should be releasing no less than 5 old classics a week and given us a hdd to put all the old classics right on your dashboard already nintendo may be selling consoles but you mean to say you think sonic chaos is all you can come up with wheres zelda majoras mask? nintendo is a failure for us classic gamers!
yes it is! my system is completly full already im using a 2 gig for the rest of my games that don't fit in the system and i am dissapointed for the whole last year it has been without one classic game or wii game that i have waited for! so yes everyone is entitled to theyre opinion thats not grasping at straws.I have not turned on my wii for a year already!
I OWN every system, i'm a deep collector of all good games on all systems i'm just stating i feel even though the wii sells boatloads they're collection in the last year has gotten stale thats all i am saying.
Sorry but the virtual console has alot of games that have come out in the last year especially if you like NeoGeo.
I think they are saving some of their big guns for after the sd card fix which is coming in March(IGN stated not official).
I own the Roms, however I do love Wiiware, and the snowboard game is really fun! Oh, and I did download SNK from the VC, because I prefer to play fighters with a classic control instead of a keyboard, and that guy who shouts "SKRAAAAAAH!" and does that stupid pose is hillarious.
Today Nintendo of Europe and Australia added a new game to the Wii Shop Channel. This week's lone WiiWare game is Lonpos.
