Star Wars Outlaws Players Being Told by Ubisoft to Delete Save & Start With Day One Patch Installed

Ubisoft has emailed Star Wars Outlaws players with early access to delete their save and restart the game wit the day one patch installed.

GAMERJET240d ago

Release and fix later? Par for the ubisoft course.

LordoftheCritics240d ago

What was the early access for?

People paid 130 bucks for that.

thorstein240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

Just to clear up confusion. All early access adopters can get/ already have the day 1 patch.

So, no they won't have to wait until launch day and they can play now, just make sure
It's updated to version 1.000.002.

@thorstein

I find it hard to believe that a 3rd rate news site would click bait people into a misleading statement like that.

@notatalll

"On August 27, our teams identified an issue where some PS5 players were playing on a previous version of the game. We quickly deployed an update and informed affected players to ensure their game was updated to the latest version (1.000.002) and advised that they begin a new save to avoid additional issues and progression blockers. We've followed up with affected PS5 players today to inform them we have provided them an in-game Trailblazer trinket as well as 100 Ubisoft Connect Units (to redeem for in-game rewards, for example) to make their return to the Outer Rim a little more special." -Ubisoft via GameRadar

Pay now for early access, but properly access later. Thank you for your business. /s

So much for early access lol

raWfodog240d ago

Biggest scam in the gaming industry.

Read the article, EA is fine....

TheNamelessOne240d ago (Edited 240d ago )

Make a big deal pushing the more expensive versions and the early access to the super fans, then screw them over after the fact. Nice one there, Ubi.

RhinoGamer88240d ago

Like I advised... buy at Black Friday... NEVER buy on launch day with these games.

Inverno240d ago

Won't really change the fact that what's on the disc is still a broken game. Every current physical copy of this game is and will be forever broken, a month from now, 2, 6, doesn't matter. Unless they rerelease a physical version with all the fixes applied people get screwed over no matter how many patches they release to download. That's the issue people seem to not understand, you really want to get your point across? Don't wait to buy during black Friday, nahh don't buy it all.

MrNinosan240d ago

That goes for every single game thou. Nothing exclusive to Ubi or Outlaws.

Almost every game goes gold a month ahead of release, and during that month there is in almost every case at least a day 1 patch.

JEECE240d ago

Yep this is why the whole "I'm buying physical for preservation purposes" doesn't have the same weight with games as it does with movies/music/books. Any of those types of media, you buy physical to preserve the real, authentic version (avoiding things like George Lucas edits or removal of licensed music with movies/shows, or for music avoiding artists rerecording new versions of older songs and just removing the real recordings from the Internet). Up through PS2/Xbox/GameCube (and really Wii I guess for Nintendo) that argument still applied to games, but basically beginning with PS3 and 360 if all you have is the disc, the version of the game you have is not going to be the experience you remember. At best it will be jankier and buggier. At worst it will be broken or you won't even have the full game.

Physical game diehards never acknowledge this though, or if they do they just say "well some games are complete on the disc." But at this point it's not many.

Ubisoft games drastically dropped a in price a couple months later for many years now. I think the game looks decent though. Wait a yearish later and it’s in the bargain bin. Buy 2 get 1 deal or Black Friday is probably when I’ll buy it but I may end up waiting for the bargain bin.

Stuff that should have been in the base game. Probably would have had better sales, too.

YourMommySpoils13d ago

Don't think even that would have helped this borefest of the least Star Wars experience in history of gaming.

coolbeans13d ago

Nah. The Outlaws base game isn't starved of content. Its more the lacking quality-of-life features at launch and a design template that's fundamentally confused.

-Foxtrot13d ago

The first thing we see Hondo Ohnaka in for a while since Rebels / The Clone Wars and it's for this...

He's such a great character, I thought he'd have been included in something better. Hopefully we see him in Ahsoka Season 2 or the Mandalorian and Grogu film.
