Digital Foundry - We loved to see the visual ambition in the PC version of Black Myth: Wukong, but we had concerns about the PS5 version based on the lack of review code and a teaser clip that exhibited obvious issues. Oliver Mackenzie and Alex Battaglia check out the console code, dissect the Quality, Balance and Performance mode, analyse frame-rates and compare to the high-end PC experience.

There is no way in high hell Sony would pay money for this, something so successful and not advertise it as an exclusive console game. There's just no way, they've done it for everything else, why would they not do it for this.
It's people who can't let a story go, there's no deal, they just probably supported a new Chinese studio with their China Hero Project and give them tools to help develop on their console. If Microsoft came along and offered them the same tools early on for their console I'm sure Sony wouldn't bat an eyelid.
Sony took a chance on a new studio early on and they benefitted from it, that's their reward.
Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is the most-nominated game at this year's BAFTA Games Awards, with 11 nominations.
However, the Cambridge-based studio's action-adventure game has missed out on a Best Game nomination; instead the nominees are Black Myth: Wukong, Helldivers 2, Thank Goodness You're Here!, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Astro Bot, and Balatro.
Beautiful game, love the series, and the character!
Well crafter and well done.
Good. The game is unique, heartfelt, and beautiful. Yes, the mechanics are rather simplistic. But the teams dedication to storytelling is on full display. It's definitely not for everyone, but it won't disappoint those who appreciate video games that push the boundaries of the medium.
Love the game. Beautiful looking, game play was solid and it didn't over stay it's welcome.
Good game with the best graphics and animation I've seen this gen. They need to focus more on the gameplay though if there is HB3.
The finalists of the 25th annual Game Developers Choice Awards have been revealed, with Astro Bot and Black Myth: Wukong tied with the most nominations at seven each.
So many issues… I wasnt expecting a masterpiece on console but also wasnt expecting such a poor port either
Quality mode not capping at 30
Balanced mode neither capping at 40 nor being over 48 to trigger VRR
The most misleading “Performance Mode” ever, since its actually just 30fps using FSR Frame Gen to get to 60 (and therefore having MORE latency/input lag than the actual 30fps mode)
Over sharpened and with a ton or artifacts in the performance mode.
Extra blurry in balanced mode (plus the strange ultra low quality textures for some stuff)
ooof.... needs a bit more time in the oven. I can only imagine how it will be on the Series S. The X may be on par with the 5.... but that S is surely going to be stuck in its version of quality mode only.
this is a load of bullshit, im up to the third area and have had zero problems and the frame rate is perfect
I’ll tell you what, when I see reviews bashing performances and giving like 5s out of 10s for it, I’m going to come back to the Black Myth reviews and ask what it did that made it get away with it.
It's blanking out on the PC. I heard the PS5 is doing relatively well compared.
