But, but, but ... the PC people only pirate their games /s

shinoff2183272d ago

I don't think anyone ever said all pc people pirate their games. A good amount do, but steam wouldn't be as successful as it is without people buying.

Vits272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

PC is mostly about piracy.
Physical media accounts for more than half of the total revenue.
+25 million potential customers aren’t enough to justify the cost of porting.
The Switch is mainly bought by parents for their kids.
Releasing games later on a platform doesn’t impact their sales.

And many other terrible opinions that you only see here.

Jingsing272d ago

Given the current state of world economics and PC hardware costs it is pretty reasonable to assume PC piracy has only become larger. Piracy on PC is just as easy as buying but without letting go of your money.

Babadook7272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

PC in general is a smaller market than PS5 when comparing on a game by game basis. When it's the other way around it's newsworthy. Maybe this game will be above average for its PC sales but I kind of doubt it.

phoenixwing272d ago

some pc people do in fact pirate their games, it's probably the reason why they waited to do a port. i own a gaming pc but i'm not going to act like piracy isn't an issue for pc gaming. I will probably buy this when it comes to pc tho

FinalFantasyFanatic271d ago

I really hope no one actually has that hot take, considering Steam has more or less eliminated the majority of PC pirating.

Successful as in selling more or successful as in a better experience? If only the author could actually record the Q&A and provide a direct quote rather than second-hand paraphrasing.

I’m still playing through the PS5 version which already runs and looks great. I just got to the Great desert so it’s a slow burn for me.

Tacoboto272d ago

When I played through it back at launch, the Great Desert was the only area that had performance issues (Balanced Mode).

It seemed to be related to maybe a memory leak in that region; it only happened there with unstable framerate at times, and performance would be solid again after closing and relaunching the game.

10/10 game otherwise, loved everything about it and I'll be Day One for whatever they have next.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH272d ago

I haven’t noticed any performance issues in the Great Dessert yet so maybe it’s been patched. Excellent game I’m loving it. I’ve had it since launch just haven’t gotten around to playing it.

Stellar Blade Director Gets Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Platinum Trophy, Says It's Game of the Year

The levels of praise for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have been off the charts since it launched a few weeks back, and now that more people are rolling credits on the RPG, it's getting some additional Game of the Year talk.

Case in point: Kim Hyung-tae, director of Stellar Blade and founder of its developer, Shift Up, has taken to social media in order to express his love for Sandfall Interactive's debut.

The year isn’t close to over so it’s a little premature to be calling for GoTY already.

andy856d ago (Edited 6d ago )

I mean he did say it's his GOTY. But there doesn't seem to be much to challenge it unless DS2 or Ghost of Yotei improve greatly on the last ones or there's a big surprise. Split Fiction is the only proper challenger really so far this year given ITT won it in the past. But given the universal praise and it's highest user rated game ever there's only one runner for me so far this year

MrNinosan6d ago

While I agree, I can only imagine DS2 and Ghost of Yotei stand in the way.

This year has already been amazing and I hope we'll get more bangers this year and I'm mostly hyped for DS2, but after spending over 100 hours with Expedition 33, even I who normally only like Final Fantasy rpgs think Expedition 33 will be fighting for the GOTY for real.

jznrpg6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

I’m not saying it’s not a contender but over half the year left. Before this game came out who would think it would be GoTY? Some more games can come into contention out of nowhere so I like to play the years games before making up my mind

Armaggedon6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

I dont think Obscur is that great, but I dont see what is going to compete. I guess kingdom come 2. Ninja Gaiden 4 will have to be the ultimate hack and slash game to ever be considered a candidate. Oh wait, I forgot aboit Ghost of Yotei.

I still have to start the new dynasty warriors game, get doom, looking forward to lost souls aside, playing south of midnight and honestly Clair definitely set a standard that’s going to be tough to top. But, it’s not impossible for sure

gold_drake6d ago

quite honestly, i played doom yesterday, its abit, dull.

definitely action packed, but i dunno, i expected abit more.

gold_drake6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

i do too, this game, fuck me sideways.

only a few games give me that sorta feeling, i couldnt stop playing.

the music, fuuuck so good.
the story, the characters, fhe battles ,so good.

i love this game so much ha

gigoran85d ago

this game, the story, and the music, gave me real physical emotions. Any game that can do that to a player deserves praise.

ravens526d ago

This is my GOTY so far. Ghost is a day 1, i still have to finish ds1 so i probably wont be there day 1 for ds2. I kno Ghost is gonna be amazing, but its gonna be hard to top this as my goty.

UE5 based this time

robtion7d ago

That said, I think Stellar Blade looks better than most current UE5 games.

Relientk777d ago

If Stellar Blade is anything to go by, yeah I am hyped to see this new game.

robtion7d ago

I just saw the Stellar Blade director just finished Clair Obscur (96hrs playtime). He clearly has good taste. Gives me some confidence concerning their new game.

Notsofast6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

he did make Stellar Blade based on inspiration of Nier Automata God of War 4, and Horizon Zero Dawn so if he makes a Stellar Blade 2 I could see it reaching Final Fantasy 7 remake levels

jznrpg7d ago

I hope it’s single player.

robtion7d ago

Let's hope so. If not I have no interest in it.

robtion7d ago

Very interested to see what they follow Stellar Blade up with. Easily my GOTY 2024.

Levii_927d ago

I have 120 hours in this game..

Astro Bot was mine easily but Stellar Blade is right behind it and then Silent Hill 2.

robtion7d ago

Yeah I have around 260 hours. I also loved the Silent Hill 2 remake and Space Marine 2.
