Amplitude and Frequency were two of the greatest games on the PS2. They were the games that preceded Rock Band & Guitar Hero, and in my opinion had a greater emphasis on the tracks you were "playing". If this is true, I will buy it day one, no questions asked.

I'm sure there are a few people around here who can share my joy on this subject.

Does the download content from guitar hero or rock band 1 work with guitar hero and rock band 2?

Because if it does then what is the point of having new version come out every year? I only ask because my nephew wants one of them for his birthday

every song available for DLC from Rock Band will work with ALL Rock Band versions... there is even an option to transfer 55 songs from Rock Band 1 into Rock Band 2 ( 3 songs were not available for transfer because of licensing issues)

On top of that Harmonix has promised us that all DLC will be compatible for future Rock Band games.

Now... Guitar Hero World Tour... DLC for Guitar Hero 3 will *NOT* work with Guitar Hero World Tour... the only DLC that will is the Metallica Album DLC for "Death Magnetic".

now to answer the "Why come out with a new version every year":

Rock Band 2 was only released because of 2 main reasons: 1) they wanted to compete with Guitar Hero and 2) they wanted to fix and add features that fan wanted like Single Player World Tour. They will *NOT* be releasing a Rock Band 3 this year, they have stated that themselfs.

now as for Guitar Hero, you can find about 3 new versions every year... they milk that franchise to no end. World Tour is an obvious rip off rock band. Guitar Hero Metallica is planned for this year and so is World Tour 2.

Thank you for the VERY detailed assistance.

It looks like Rock Band might be the better choice. That is so greedy to make new music games like that and you can't even port over songs from your older versions. So because of that, Rock Band looks to be the better choice.

Again, thanks very much

One of my favorite Ps2 games.

Amplitude would be cool to see on PSN and Amplitude 2 would be even cooler. Now I know it does not say it but I would hope there could be a PSP version too some day. That I think would be cool.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band can go to hell if this happens, Amplitude was awesome.

Frequency was... ok but Amplitude and Amplitude 2 would be sooooooooooooooooo kickass.
