I'm expecting some big news with this one.

Babadook7260d ago (Edited 260d ago )

Yup. This event was leaked a while ago by someone with a decent track record. Was supposed to announce the PS5 Pro early in September and then more games will debut at Tokyo Game Show near the end of Sept.

StormSnooper260d ago

There are so many top studios working away on games that I think we are bound to see some major games debuting.

RaidenBlack260d ago

Lookin' at you Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch (and maybe a hint from Cory Barlog)
... and hoping for Wolverine and Marathon gameplay.

Ethereal260d ago

Hoping to see what Bluepoint and Housemarque have been working on as well.

Crows90260d ago

House marque released the only new IP for Sony....a successful one too...

fr0sty260d ago

Returnal is fantastic. Definitely can't wait for more from them.

anast260d ago

I heard Marathon was struggling. But there will be some big names for sure.

dveio260d ago

Only two or three days after New Year's Eve they had thrown out a very difficult statement to make: no major 1st party titles until at least March '25.

It STILL amazes me to imagine how they most certainly must have resisted to drop the news. And once they did, how they were probably avoiding the Internet for weeks.

Now that we're past this:

Playstation's celebrating its 30th anniversary in this year's December.

Up until then, 12 months of almost complete silence will have gone by.

I'd be suprised if Sony would just write about their anniversary on their PS Blog.

My bet:

Sony's been cooking alot.

At this point in time, they either have finalized their announcement plans for Q4 (Black Friday & Holiday season) or are still evaluating on if there will be a Showcase in Fall or in December.

IF the PS5 Pro is real and IF Playstation Studios are finally able to show what they've been working on, then I am just thrilled for their next Showcase and Q4.

Ethereal260d ago

Hoping we get anniversary hardware like the 20th.

darthv72260d ago

...or at least some side plates and controller.

neutralgamer1992260d ago (Edited 260d ago )

What good would that be since scalpers but then to sell later

Sony knows when their studios need more time so they arrange for these 2nd party exclusive deals in advance. Sony may not have had any 1st party games but they have had the best console exclusives this year. I think they are just trying to align their studios on a steady release schedule

Michiel1989260d ago

I mean obviously their studios are working on stuff, it's not like they gave all of them a 4 year vacation. I just hope there's some rpgs in there but I doubt it. As much as I love their 3rd person story driven action games, I want some different type of games from them, they don't all need to be AAA even.

shinoff2183260d ago

Word. Please bring some rpgs.

StormSnooper260d ago (Edited 260d ago )

Silence from first party maybe, but it’s been a good year of exclusives for PlayStation. I agree though, they must have been cooking. Deciding not to reveal their projects too soon.

anast260d ago

With MS dropping the ball, Sony doesn't need a ton of pre-hype anymore.

dveio260d ago (Edited 260d ago )

I am a (lucky) release adopter of the PS5. Always been a Playstationeer.

But I can't buy myself a thrilling gaming night from just Microsoft dropping balls.

I am absolutely positive that the PS5 generation will have an even greater second half-time lifecycle.

And I could even wait another full year without Playstation announcing anything.

But I can't buy myself a thrilling gaming night from Microsoft dropping balls, either.

If I could, I'd be ... obscure.

Obscure is a NG4 treasure. He/she must be protected at all costs.

Don't sing it bring it!!

attilayavuzer260d ago

An announcement for a potential upcoming rumor cycle.

Leeroyw259d ago

Exactly. If I hear any more games as a service nonsense I will switch to pc.

anast259d ago

Where the most popular games are games as a service and F2P? How does switching to PC avoid this?

Leeroyw259d ago (Edited 259d ago )

Anast. Seeing as you asked. It doesn't matter what the most popular games are there. It matters that I will have access to much larger AA range of single player games. As well as mods. Also I find the community to be a bit wiser towards predatory corporate behaviour. I suggest people watch a newly released documentary about the downfall of xbox and the arrogance that brought it about. The same thing I fear is happening at playstation. History repeats itself.

Lightning77260d ago

If they announce Ghost 2 for May or June of next year then expect that at this event or at the game Awards. Ghost 2 and Bends New IP and Fairgames (if you're into that) should be closer to release but that depends if they announce it at this showcase and the game awards in terms of how close those 2 games are ready for release. If those games are no at either event then expect those games a ways off still.

The pro event will focus on 1st and 3rd party to show off the improvements. Hopefully with a new surprise of Bend, Ghost 2 or Fair games as being those newer games.

Looking forward to the event.

I'll be picking it up as soon as the complete edition goes on a deep sale. I would buy their stuff day one if they didn't cut up their games into tiers.

raWfodog6h ago

It’ll be patched up a lot by then too, so a much smoother gameplay experience as well.

Obscure_Observer10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

HELL YEAH!!!!

Plenty of amazing and HIGHLY requests features on our way!

I can´t wait for Naoe´s new parkour skills, Bo Staff and Ultimate Hardcore difficulty on New Game +!!!

hiawa233h ago

90 hours into the game and have not started with the dude yet. Updates sound awesome.
