IGN: Free Speech, Vol. 4: The Heist

IGN writes: "ver since watching Reservoir Dogs, I've wanted to drive a getaway car. This week my lawless ambitions were finally fulfilled when I played a slick little game called The Heist. Found on AddictingGames.com, The Heist puts you right in the middle of a cool, Ocean's Eleven-style crime ring where you act as the driver in a series of increasingly difficult criminal capers.

The game starts in your garage hideout where you plan missions, hire strangely emo-looking specialists and get your mechanic to upgrade your wheels. Mission descriptions give you the low-down on the bank or jewelry store you'll knock over, as well as how much money and respect you'll earn for successfully doing it. Success depends on navigating through traffic, avoiding the police, and getting from the crime scene to the hideout with at least some of the money you've stolen. You start the mission with a big chunk of cash but that loot is slowly whittled away every time you hit a civilian car or your own car takes damage. Money lost can be made back by destroying police cars but it's tricky taking out the cops without hitting anyone else. That means you'd best learn how to drive because if your credit counter hits zero before you get to the hideout, it's zero money, zero respect, as well as a mandatory mission replay."
