It can upscale it but with this type of game; I dou t it.

CobraKai329d ago

True but there’s not even an Xbox One version. Very surprising

LG_Fox_Brazil329d ago

Capcom probably knew that it would't sell on the Xbox and weren't able to get a GP deal, so they mostly likely knew that it would be best to cut expenses and release on the other platforms where it'll make profit

The mt framework they are using for this is compatible with switch, xbox one and ps4, but not ps5 or series s|x. They could have used the RE engine but they decided not to. It is odd though that they did not at least make xbox one as well.

Eonjay329d ago

PS4 games work fine on PS5 and PS5 and Xbix use near identical architectures (which is the x86 PC standard). Compatibility isn't the issue. It's clearly a financial decision.

mkis007328d ago

I've noticed you have said this a lot. The line of thought is irrelevant( MT framework) as they are not releasing on xbox one but ps4. MT framework obviously doesn't enter into the conversation as there is no ps5 version.

darthv72328d ago

^^I said it twice... I guess twice = "a lot" now.

mkis007326d ago

Well saying the same thing twice in short succession is kind of lot now isn't it? It's weird to come off as pr for a company.

It's pretty gross and entitled to continue demanding that devs go without pay to make something that Xbix customers refuse to pay for.
Imagine if people expected you to work for free.

JEECE329d ago

I mean, why not leave Xbox out and hold out for a GP payday? You know very few Xbox players are going to pay for this if it's released for a la carte purchase. This is exactly the type of game that they'll anticipate to get as part of GP. So from a leverage standpoint you might as well announce without Xbox, build hype, and try to let the Internet pressure MS into making a GP deal.

Fantastic news! I'm thrilled to finally have the arcade ports of X-Men COTA, Marvel, and Marvel Super Heroes.

darthv72329d ago

Nice... i wont have to burden my Saturn or PS1 or DC with these. i can just use my switch like i do for the capcom arcade stadium and fighting bundle and beat em up bundle.

autobotdan329d ago

There was always emulators. You can play all these on a steam deck portable since last year

Petebloodyonion329d ago

I still own my Sega Saturn, complete with X-Men: COTA and a variety of Capcom fighting games. However, as I've noted before, they never produced an ideal port of that game, nor for Marvel Super Heroes.
decent port of Xmen vs SF and Marvel VS SF exist on Saturn with the RAM cartridge.

Now my dilemma; choosing between the Switch and PS4 versions it will probably depend on the backward compatibility of the Switch.

darthv72329d ago

Pete... if you have MSH on Saturn and the 1mb cart (not the 4mb for this one) it unlocks a 3mb mode in the options. Much smoother animation and loading.

it would take them five minutes to port this to xbox ???

phil must have upset capcom, with his constant lies and fake crowds

shinoff2183329d ago

Best Compilation of 2024

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Video game compilations are like those "buy one, get one" offers that pop up in supermarkets and online retailers every now and then. Only they're better. More often it's "buy one, get three" or "buy one, get eight". In 2024, there were plenty of good deals, including Castlevanina Dominus Collection, which assembled three must-play handheld Castlevania titles and revivified one of the rare franchise duds; Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered, which commemorated 25 years of Soul Reaver with a fresh coat of paint and quality-of-life updates; Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, a well-researched, well-curated celebration of the crossover fighting series; and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, the definitive way to play three classics of the genre."
