"local" lets hope its not another shit portal device

The handheld market has heated up with amd's next gen portable chips this would be a good match.

Get a custom os like xbox stripped down barebones windows with amd power sodim ddr5 1440p screen perhaps vita style oled screen and 1tb base nvme storage even gen 4 would be fine to save cost.

Right to repair availability like the steam deck

italiangamer373d ago (Edited 373d ago )

Portal maybe is shit to you but not for a lot of people using it.

Just saw your comments history, my goodness you're one of the most desperate xbots ever 🤣

just_looken372d ago

@italian

Apple is everywere also same with F150 being the most sold truck all of those are trash and overpriced.

The psvita is way better than the portal garbage i do not care about sales in a world that buys a new 1500 apple phone each year.

Also this site is super pro sony so of course you would say that and not even mention how i always say series x is pointless if you having a gaming pc sense all there game are multi plat.

But sony does no wrong at all on this site they can take a tablet from 5+years ago strip 95% of its features not even have a direct connection get praise with undying devotion from places like this then sell it in masses as new tech fucking joke of a device.

deadfrag372d ago

1440p screen for what reason....to consume the battery faster.A 1080p screen oled if possible is the best choise and that has already been proved with steam deck.

just_looken372d ago

@dead

Cellphone have had 4k/1440p display's for awhile

The "local" part is worrying, both Sony and Xbox don't need a streaming device (even the Portal isn't that great at its job compared to a phone or Steam Deck, etc..). Then again, making a dedicated Xbox handheld might not be that smart either, they'd have to go against Nintendo and possibly handheld PCs like Steam Deck, Sony made 2 attempts into the handheld space, only to get squeezed out by Nintnedo.

@Just-looken,
Probably not getting that 1440p screen if Xbox makes a handheld, at such a small size, you don't really need such a high resolution, plus, someone already said it would eat up battery life. All of the handheld PCs don't exactly have great battery life, and that's with a much lower resolution screen, even the OLED Steam Deck leaves me craving for more.

you know... Im convinced those who shit on things like the Portal (or even Xbox Series S|X) have truly never played them. I get that its the thing to shit on something you have no interest in, but those of us who have used them have far more experience that others should listen to, instead of their own biases.

i have the portal and the logitech g-cloud ( https://www.xbox.com/en-US/... ) and both are really good at what they do. Provide the console experience on the go. Are they perfect? of course not, because you are trying to equate a big screen experience into a small screen so naturally there will be drawbacks to things like text. But I will tell you that the input lag is negligible. I use these devices to play away from the TV, and they do exactly that.

At first i wasnt interested in the notion of 'cloud' gaming... then I tried it and saw the benefits of being able to pick up where i left off practically anywhere I can get an internet connection. Ive tried using my phone, it just doesnt feel right even when using a real controller. These dedicated portable devices are a much better compliment to the main system than I expected. I find myself picking them up to play instead of just going into my game room and doing it.

And then he was reminded that xbox is being outsold 4:1 by PlayStation and 3:1 by a 7 year old Switch and tears formed in his eyes and the sounds of the tiniest of violins could be heard in the background.

just_looken372d ago

Well of course its being out sold there is no reason to own a xbox this gen

The playstation 5 as i own one i know what? he did not die but i do its a ewaist pro this gen when my boot drive dies in the trash it goes the DS5's are also trash gone are the day's of ds3 i prefer xbox pad as its a controller not some fancy vibrator for a woman.

The switch was selling because it was the only gaming handled with support for years but the steam deck has taken a slice of that pie.

purple101372d ago

the vibration in xbox triggers feels like a 1000 wasps, in a tin can, simply awful

if weren't even as good as ps4s DualShock, now dual sense has moved a full generation ahead in terms of hd rumble.

get with the times my man,

just_looken372d ago

I do not play with vibration sense DS2 days i do not need a vibrator

I just use a controller triggers buttons and joyticks with none of that other pointless tech

darthv72372d ago

you must be playing the wrong games there Purple... I have no issues with the xb controller / trigger rumble.

purple101372d ago (Edited 372d ago )

@Darth, all I know is I played neuremburg ring on Gt sport (ps4) and could feel undulations in the road, kerbs, bumps, and stomach gets light when cresting a hill,

played on Forza, cant feel anything, cars floating, triggers felt like 1000 wasps buzzing, not the same at all.

thats all I know, I don't have an xbox, my brother does, but we both just play PS5 in the lounge now, ps5 dualsene is leagues ahead, you must have tried both, I know you have.

gold_drake372d ago

if it works with gamepass, that would be huge.

FinalFantasyFanatic372d ago

I think it would only be logical for XBox to do this, why leave out one of their biggest selling features?

Abear21371d ago

Xbox sees Sony making profit off hardware, wants to has those monies too

Review - Gex Trilogy (Xbox Series S/X) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "There are two correct answers to the question, “is the Gex Trilogy collection worth your time”. If you want to be technical, no, the collection ain’t worth it. The games have never been part of the upper echelon of platformers from the 90s, and haven’t aged that well. The other, more emotional and subjective answer, is that, yes, this collection is worth your time, as these are funny, creative, and inventive games from a bygone era. Even if the original Gex just isn’t good at all, both Enter the Gecko and Gex 3 are hilarious and inventive titles that will easily please any 3D platforming fan, no matter their age or experience. It’s tail time once again!"
