I get disliking GaaS titles but we are in 2024 where online games (GaaS titles) have a huge market. Why is it bad for them to give that an attempt all while delivering single player games? We’ve gotten a ton on PS5 so far and more to come.

I personally dislike GaaS titles but I also hope Sony does good with Concord. The more they see people like their games the more of a chance we can possibly get Socom, Warhawk, Killzone, etc as a fun multiplayer title. I also want Astrobot to kill it in sales so they can see we still love their single player platformer and maybe give us some more new IPs or bring back old ones like Sly Cooper…😭

Concord doesn't interest me one bit either. I didn't even bother to open the email for the Overwatch crap that came with my graphics card. I'd much rather see Sony give us a Halo-like MP experience with a great sandbox of weapons and maps, like in a new Resistance. Classic arena style Rumble Pit FFA, TDM, Fiesta, SWAT, CTF and their own original modes. I'd pay money for that.

I'm glad Helldivers hit a niche for the PvE crowd but I do not want to see the likes of Concord succeed.

It costs $80.99 CAD, and they offer free worldwide shipping for orders over $80 CAD which is perfect. So I'll likely pre-order it from them as well! This lesser-detailed Astro Bot plush seems to be a Canadian exclusive no American store seems to carry it, only Wal-Mart Canada, which sells it for $20 CAD.

However, there is a more detailed version available on FanGamer for $32 USD. Personally, I want to own both!

One of my biggest regrets in gaming is selling the majority of my physical games and rebuying them as digital titles on the ps4 around the time the PS pro launched.
At the time for me i was a big fan of remote play on my vita / Xperia and my. Internet had just been upgraded to 100mbps and using remote play when most of my library is physical required me still changing the disc so it wasn't ideal plus so many of the games I owned were coming to PS plus like infamous second son retaining the physical game made no sense it was the future the digital revolution I could trust Sony to handle my purchases right ?

How wrong I was

Since that decision there's been events like
PlayStation trying to shutdown the psn store for PS3 and vita.
PlayStation successfully shuttering the PSP store and making the downloads only available via PS3/ Vita which comes with its own limitations.
A clear clock is hanging over the PS3 now
Nintendo has shutdown it's Wii and Wii U stores and services
Microsoft the self proclaimed champion of preservation has shut down the 360 store

It's clear that digital games are here for a good time not a long time.

So my tact is changing I only buy physical now with the exclusion of games that are not fully on disc or cart e.g. tony hawk's Pro skater on switch or halo infinite.
Or games that are exclusive to digital like Penny's big breakaway.
Or games that are heavily tied to online services like Destiny.

This. Now is the time to start buying those ps3 games like Spec Op The Line, Binary Domain etc. I have a physical collection starting from 8bit up and no regrets my side. Even though I have a ps1 and ps2 my ps3 is always hooked up to play 3 generations of titles and to this day I personally find it to be the superior media player as far as formats go.

Agree thankfully PS3 games remain cheap I've bolstered my PS3 collection significantly over the past 6 months with many games brought for between 1 a d 5 dollars at most.

PS1 games are starting to see price rises now though with older games like dece t going for 100 odd dollars in my region.

I'm still not one for collecting for collecting same I only pick up games I actually want to play or have some element of nostalgia for.

Also admittedly my older cartridge consoles all have ever drives in them so I've stopped collecting this games for NES and mega drive my PS2 also has a HDD in it with a substantial amount of isos on it as collecting games that old starts to become prohibitly expensive

People can argue with me about this all they want but Astros playroom is the best exclusive that’s came out this gen. It made better use of the ps5 haptics than any other game and it was a near perfect game for what it is. I cannot wait to play 2.
