this is new modern sony were all they want is the $ from there loyal blind fans.

$60 for a game that no doubt will have mini games and not live up to that price tag. It should have been $20-30.

Hypertension140363d ago (Edited 363d ago )

You sure not taking about Nintendo or Microsoft here?

Have you played Astrobot rescue mission? It is one of the very best platformers of last generation, being a VR game, many people missed out on it. A large scale game of that caliber is well worth the price.

I haven't seen many games published by Sony that isn't worth the price, they are one of the few publishers left that actually gives you a complete game day one.

just_looken363d ago

@hyper

This is ps5 sony not ps4 sony era

ps5 sony era gave us a good rachet game and astro sure but also.......................... .........................

can not say gran turismo sense ps3 version gt5 is better all around

I am talking about new games only made for ps5 was created with the new sony leadership your gow was a ps4 game. Demon souls was one of many port jobs

https://www.psu.com/news/al...

spiderman 2 but the first one version 1.0 on ps4 was better lets face it before they changed peter's face

I would like to see old sony back but this gen i have not seen anything i want to run and play from anyone heck if you want to toss the other 2 well Nintendo wins sense they have way more exclusive games way more sales way more profit.

Xbox has the waist of space series console if you own a pc there is 0 reason to own a series x/s if you got a ps5 same deal.

garos82363d ago

The $/hour argument doesn’t work anymore. When you have a backlog you’ll never finish, quality becomes more worth more than quantity.

Pepsi_Man3000363d ago (Edited 363d ago )

I wonder how people make such stupid assumptions like this

kayoss363d ago (Edited 363d ago )

Dont see you complaining about Nintendo and how most of their $50 + even after 10 years. Maybe you just came out from under a rock, but everything cost more now. Videos games been $60 for almost 3 generations and dont expect it to rise in price after 20 years?

andy85363d ago

Looks like it lives up to it well enough given the overwhelming reaction to the trailer? 50+ different worlds doesn't seem like it's small either

Crows90362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

I only see one blind guy because to suggest anything less than $40 is really special.

The free game they released at launch could have been $20

I_am_Batman362d ago

$60 is fine. $50 would've probably been better, but $20-30 is absurd. Astro's Playroom could've easily been a $20-30 game and this one will be much bigger and presumably better.

derek362d ago

@just_looken real fans support the hobby they partake in. Point me to all the altruistic companies not trying to make a profit unlike evil Sony, lol. If it upsets you to pay others for their work then don't buy the game. You are free to vote with your wallet.

This should be $40 like Concord.

Jin_Sakai362d ago

A quality fun looking platfromer for $60. I’d take that any day over all this live service garbage that’s flooding the market.

363d ago
CobraKai363d ago

I woulda paid $60 for the first one, definitely buying the second.

neomahi363d ago

Better be a physical release, in fact, both games on one disc. Sure, Astrobot was free for purchasing a PS5 but, it's a digital copy attached to license agreement which means when services shut down, which we're about to see the Xbox 360 Store close entirely and we know how this game goes, so does everything with it. So, physical release ensures the immortality of games existence. And if you don't want to bother with retailers, fine, sell it on PlayStation.com or through Amazon. ITS A DISC not a SNES or N64 cartridge that were expensive. It's a $.10 disc

Eonjay363d ago

Astro Bot was already confirmed for physical release.

Profchaos363d ago

It's not just ebiug6ti be physically pressed on a disc these days though you need to make sure the entire game is there so many physical games are just used as a license these days

CobraKai362d ago

Physical Halo Infinite still pisses me off.

purple101363d ago

disk actually costs $1-2, last time I was in college, many years ago we did a study, yes the disk is cheap, but the case, insert, (they're gone now, but used to have mutuals) and the distribution / delivery costs made each disk $2

crazy when physical can still be sold, the shop takes between 20-30% and they're still cheaper than digital sometimes unless there's a massive sale on,

beyond belief for me, why is the digital stores still so expensive when they have none of the above costs.

sweatyrich362d ago

Which is why I rarely buy digital

VariantAEC361d ago

Digital stores are not free to run. There are the data centers storage sometimes rented out from other providers or the facility exists in rented out space or costs a ton to run when the provider is the store owner not just that but taxes on everything including electricity usage. Digital is convenient, but it costs a lot to run and maintain, so prices stay the same.

LoveSpuds362d ago

Having the last Astrobot on the disc too would be such a great addition, as a physical collector I would be so pleased with this move.

There’s a Demand for Original Games (Just Not Live Service Slop)

The success of numerous original titles and the failure of several live service games demonstrate a strong demand for story-driven experiences.

Playstation owners buy games.

Strange seeing Hogwarts there as I downloaded it for my son from PS Plus a couple of days ago.

InUrFoxHole40d ago

Playstation owners buy games? That's a wild badge of honor my boy.

Bathyj40d ago

Not really. It's directly contributed to having the healthiest console and ecosystem. Not really debatable.

The alternative is a console platform holder whose least important customers are the ones who own their console. That's why it's Microsoft games studios now not Xbox in all but name.

Microsoft needs PlayStation, PC and Nintendo players now more than they need Xbox players. They're a dying breed.

40d ago
andy8540d ago

Not really. That's why Xbox is going under consoles wise. PS gamers purchase stuff that's why console and game sales are always high. Xbox gamers want games for 'free' on gamepass and to enter at the lowest price point (series s)

VenomUK40d ago

@InUrFoxHole said “Playstation owners buy games? That's a wild badge of honor my boy.”

This Tuesday after The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion was finally revealed I saw a tonne of conversation on X/Twitter of people gleefully mocking PS5 owners who said they were buying the game, as they were getting it for free with Game Pass. Yes, that’s great value for people with a Game Pass subscription - but do you still not see how it has impacted the Xbox hardware platform? It’s the reason Indiana Jones and Oblivion and Forza Horizon 5 aren’t exclusive anymore.

ravens5240d ago

InUrFoxHole, its wild that you think that's wild lmao. 🤯. You buy your food from the grocery store?? Ugggh. You should get Factor. Who pays for food anymore when you can pay a subscription to receive food for "free". Disgusting.

Sound stupid? It is.

InUrFoxHole40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

@Bathy
That's some cope there. You think the healthiest console is the one that doesn't even provide their gamers with their exclusive games? That crazy talk man. The healthiest is Nintendo and that's 💯 not even a debate. MS provides gamers with games. Sony provides you with MS games. Enjoy

@andy
You have broke brain. Gamepass isn't free. It's a sub service. Jesus n4g knows how to pick'em

andy8539d ago

@InUrFoxHole notice I put free in ' ' these? Doesn't take a genius. Every game that comes out on Xbox you'll see this comment "is this coming to gamepass".

2nd on the charts for a game such as Indy ain’t great.
Releasing half year after xbox version probably cooled off some demand.

This is a very good game, deserves the best chance to do well.

badz14940d ago

The real great performer here is Astrobot. keeping that rate of sales for a last year's game that is not GTAV, CoD and FIFA (now Hogwarts too). outselling MH Wilds and EA FC is kinda wild for Astrobot!

dveio40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Hogwart's, Indiana, Astro Bot & Monster Hunter - that's a pretty nice top 4 once again.

I bet MachineGames are quite happy about the sales pouring in.
