It isn't just the models, but the terrible rigging and animation... the faces are completely expressionless while trying to act out a horror game, and it really breaks the immersion.

I feel like some ppl are forgetting her character. She always came across as being a weird 19 year old, who could pass for 30. She dressed different from the other female chars in the game to emphasize that shes more vulnerable and suffered s*xual assault.

Not saying thats a good model, the eyebrows look whack. But i think its a bad model for other reasons.

I don’t get it, I’ve seen them make a normal looking female design in Medium… why is it that it feels like they’re going out of their way to make these characters looks off like this? They don’t need to be smoking hot, but it’s distracting with the direction they’re going here. I think the only normal looking one is Laura, but you’d really have to go out of your way to f*ck that up.

Ok, the wording was wrong on my end and that’s on me, I meant “normal” as in not a design that’s gone out of their way to look ugly. They could’ve easily kept with Angela’s original design and improved on it with current-gen tech, but instead they made her look weird and fat faced.

Like, this feels intentional and is distracting. Angela wasn’t a character like Maria where she was meant to be hot looking, but my god, why the decision to go out of their way to make her look like this? It feels pretty deliberate and it’s so off-putting to look at during the cutscene shown in the trailer that it takes you out.

That’s what I was referring to as “normal” female design… y’know, like a design that’s not hyper-stylized to look hot,,but also not an average every day looking person in the real world kind of design 🤦‍♂️

She also doesn’t react like how Angela did where she was really out of it and you could tell she’s not all there. It’s kind just a mid performance. I just don’t understand when you have the original game and a chance to “remake” it, you go into weird directions like changing performances and changing character designs.

The more I look at this remake, the less creepy and horrifying it looks, they really nailed the atmosphere in the original game.

Honestly, Angela is the only thing so far that looks iffy, maybe some animations too. Overall though, the environments look amazing and I love how they got the fog looking. I'm looking forward to this one.

The silent hill fan base will literally complain about anything. Finally getting new games, one of them is a remake of one of the best ones for that matter, and now they're picking it apart and one of the complaints is Angela's face. Get over it.

The designs are fine. It’s just that everything in motion has a heavy level of jank. They are paying a AA studio to remake a AAA property though, probably was always going to turn out like this. Bloober Team is incredibly hit and miss.
