Worst Videogame Bugs of All Time: From Game-Ending Glitches to Data-Destroying Nightmares

"We've all been there. Back to the wall. Knee-deep in the dead. When all of a sudden... the screen freezes. Congratulations, you just wasted six hours of your life. And man, did you get off easy.

Because some bugs do more than freeze your game. They can erase save files, ruin other games, and even damage the hardware they're played on.

They are... The Worst Videogame Bugs of All Time. "

Oh my goodness. I personally experienced that bug ridden Pool of Radiance. It was a good game spoiled by bugs. Thankfully I didn't try to uninstall it before the patch.

This article brings back a lot of (bad) memories.

Wow lol, Imagine encountering the Oblivion: Shivering Isles bug. You'll just suicide after playing for 150 hours and your game stops working.

"After installing the Shivering Isles expansion pack, all would be well until the 150-hour mark. Then it's game over, man! Game over! Six scripts controlling the movement of some city guards slowly ate up resources until no new items could be created or dropped. (Obviously, this could cause a few problems...) Even better, the problem strikes even if you never go anywhere near the new areas. Joy! "

pretty solid article though your site needs some work, some stuff hard to read

Madusha5678d ago

Agreed, article is very nicely written. The whole website has excellent content quality but the design really needs work.

Keep up the good work

...Despite being 3 years old.

Contributer fail.

Graffin5679d ago

Some pretty scary stuff in there!

Milky Joe5679d ago

That was a damn god article. Funny too.

I especially like the mention of the Ladybugs at the end. Classy stuff :D

jpymai5679d ago

Gotta love the ladybugs :)

ReservoirDog3165679d ago (Edited 5679d ago )

I only remember one bug. I still remember it till this day...

I think the game was called Croc and it froze (no memory card either) on the ending cutscene.

I never played it again.

edit: Also, one time my 360 version of Oblivion would take about 3 minutes to load anything. Don't know why it happened.

Stopped my Oblivion addiction though. So, in retrospect, it was actually a good thing.

Hudson Has "Lots More Planned" For Bomberman

Some franchises should always remain until the end of time, and it helps when you have a publisher who also believes in that philosophy.

Or release a Bomberman MMO or Fighter game.

What about a Bomberman Platformer?

mintaro6324d ago

i agree bomberman had a great run, but it's gotta go before it turns into a dare i say......sonic

Skerj6324d ago

As long as a sequel to Act Zero isn't planned then we'll be alright. I think the Bomberman games on 64 were awesome so was the one on Dreamcast, I'd like to see another platformer/rpg hybrid.

mintaro6324d ago

this really shows how ignorant you are, hmm probably a reason why u only have 2 bubbles

SpaceCowgirl6324d ago

I love bomberman, it does not need any new innovation, it is one of the greatest party games of all time. With Strategy, intensity, insanity and just plain craziness, I don't understand why there are so many haters. My only really disappointment is that I can never find people to play with on x-box live. Any attempts for hudson to still bring us more bomberman love is fine with me.

Bomberman Land-s on Wii, PSP, Touch! 2 on the DS

First revealed during the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Hudson's Bomberman Land on the Wii has apparently been stockpiling its arsenal on the down low. However, Hudson today has announced that not only will its charmingly disarming demolitions experts be ready to wage war this January, but they will march alongside a PlayStation Portable version of the game as well as Bomberman Land Touch! 2 on the Nintendo DS.

Similar to 2006's Bomberman Land Touch! on the DS, Bomberman Land on the Wii and PSP and Touch! 2 on the DS will ship out with more than just the classic multiplayer battle mode. In the minigame mode, players must avoid blowing themselves up in 50 different situations for the Wii and PSP game and 40 in the DS sequel.
