Not every single game has to bring something new for the love of (insert deity) please stop that BS I believe that line of thinking has done more damage then good to an extent. Some games dont need to always be doing something new. It just drives me crazy when I read that. O this game was great but it didnt do anything new. And so what
Now im not against new mechanics and whatnot in games. But say breath of fire 1 through 4, pretty dope games , they tried something new with dragon quarter and it was pretty whack imo and alot of others. Thats just an example
I also personally disagree with there take on edge of eternity so far I think its pretty dope. Biting off more then they can chew eh maybe a hair, but it was a very small team that in the end did a pretty good job
Live services aren't the way forward, they're an expensive dead end that appeal to execs far more than the gaming community.
For every game that gets it right, at least five fail miserably and make no money at all. What WB and other companies consider to be easy money is actually a much worse bet than a SP title or traditional MP game could ever be.

No one asked you to balloon your development costs by over hiring and expanding and over estimating sales and budgets, failing to meet targets, developing trash games like Suicide Squad that have to be delayed and take 6 years to release because of poor reception, creating mediocrity like Gotham Knights, or over extending on advertising

Baldur's Gate 3 and God of War Ragnarok shamed you all. The former for delivering a top quality product without the vices of triple A games, and the latter for releasing an entire game mode and story DLC for free because their product was quality enough to sell beyond expectations.
It’s already working. I’ve made comments about this and people are happy with Hell Divers 2 and even defending the micros and Battle Passes. We’ve opened the door and traditional games are going to be less and less the norm. Hope you’re happy with the bright future of gaming.
