for me it was the Callisto Protocol.
the issues i had with this game were just ... immense, let alone that, the story wasnt really all too interesting.

The story was meant to pay homage to the Aliens era of storytelling. Higher production values with B movie, cult classic appeal. Collisto is not great, but it's good for what it is, and the challenge is perfect for what it was wanting to achieve.

Calisto Protocol is a spiritual successor to Dead Space. I think you must be thinking of Scorn which is influenced on the art style of H.R. Giger who designed the Xenomorph.
