February 2024 is the 40th month the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox Series X|S by 229,148 units. In the last 12 months, the PlayStation 5 has outsold Xbox Series X|S by 2.67 million units. The PlayStation 5 is currently ahead by 5.47 million units.
The earnings reports of Capcom's Fiscal year 2024 showcase the growth of PC over console, with 60% of game sales being made on the former.
What’s interesting is that, given how well their games sell, it’s very likely most of them fall into the 25/75 revenue split bracket. The larger ones, like Monster Hunter, are in the 20/80 bracket.
So even accounting for the vastly superior regional pricing on PC, I wouldn’t be surprised if revenue-wise from digital sales, both platforms are close, or if PC is ahead as well.
F1 25 promises improved handling, a long-overdue My Team overhaul and a new Braking Point story with a dramatic twist. But is it a worthy yearly upgrade? Yes, it actually is this time.

Wow this almost makes Xbox look good
But when rest of the world, Europe, Africa and Asia are taken into account, it’s a massacre
Thats a staggering sales gap in just one market.
It was tight in the US but ps5 starting to pull away. It's close in comparison to rest of world
What a strange, but also impressive path of PS5's sales.
The first 1½ years, it massively suffered from shortages. As the Series did too.
Sales went down especially in Europe, where today it's behind the PS4 by about 4mill units.
Because Sony didn't want to lose to the Series in the US where the Series has always been the strongest historically, they shipped more units to the US than Europe for many months.
After 1½yrs, the PS5 then started to even outselling the PS4 globally.
Leading to being only like 800k units behind PS4 globally today (while still being 4mill units behind it in Europe).
What could have been if there were no shortages. I think total PS5 sales would be sitting at around 60 to 62mill now.
And now it's 2024.
The monthly sales ratio between Series and PS5 kept on growing (also because Series sales kept on falling). Total global sales is a 2:1 ratio, but over the last months it has actually been a 3.3:1 ratio monthly - the latest figures showing even a 3.8:1 ratio for the first week of March.
But then again Sony announced there won't be any first party releases until March 2025. So how will the next 12 months unfold in terms of hardware sales?
What a strange console generation.
''The PlayStation 5 is currently 1.27 million units ahead the PlayStation 4 in the US when you align launches, while the Xbox Series X|S is behind the Xbox One by 2.25 million.''
That's crazy.
