Hope the game is good and hope it does well if it is with DD2 is on same day.

RaidenBlack413d ago

Since its comparatively less ambitious than DD2 and hence will have better performance on PS5 than DD2, it might have an advantage there.
On Xbox and PC, its all DD2.

S2Killinit413d ago

Pretty sure it will do just fine. Its not the same type of game, and people who want something different from DD2 will be picking RoR

Ironmike413d ago

It's going to have be something special to take sales dd2 every preview I read about dd2 are saying its something soecial

S2Killinit413d ago (Edited 413d ago )

Im sure DD2 will be amazing, but there are people who want to play something else based on what gaming mood they are in.

I for one, will be picking RoR up day one for instance because Im watching the new series “Shogun” on hulu at this time and Im really in the mood for a Japanese inspired game.

Also with a name like that, it might turn into a classic. (:

Hope it ends up being a good game but from the gameplay I saw at the last PS show it looked underwhelming to me.

Ironmike413d ago (Edited 413d ago )

I thought the sane it looked like a bit of ghost ripoff tbh and graphics didnt blow me away either but if gameplay is good and it turns out to be different from ghost I try it

_Decadent_Descent413d ago

The graphics are more than serviceable - and that's all I care about as far as that goes. What I really care about is the combat mechanics and other combat-related systems.

Becuzisaid412d ago

Same. After the PS presentation I removed it from my wishlist. I'm sure it will be a good game. Team Ninja games are usually a lot of fun. But it just seemed like a game that Ghosts does better.

Exvalos413d ago

1 day before release bad sign, shows no confidence in the game.

TwoPicklesGood412d ago

One day before release? LOL talk about having confidence in your game…not. I know we are starved for games on our ps5 but this still looks average at best. Gameplay is literally like every other team ninja game, graphics are bland, story is most likely nonexistent. Not hyped at all but I’ll watch some YouTube plays and maybe pick it up a few months from now.

Rise of the Ronin PC Review | Thumb Culture

Rise of the Ronin was the best breath of fresh air I needed when it comes to feudal Japan and sword fighting. Playing a game where it’s a mix of Dark Souls, For Honor and a splash of Shadow of Mordor. I would be recommending this game to those who love Japan’s history and sword fighting, but just on the PS5. The reason is that this game killed my 3070, and I’ve had to regress to continue playing the game. I would have tested it on the Steam Deck, but I’m not willing to lose that too.

So, play this game on the PS5, but if you don’t have one, you can play it on PC. Just make sure it’s a Super edition or a 4080 just to be safe

Now I hope they start developing Nioh 3! Those are my personal favourites. I loved Rise Of The Ronin but the openworld isn't as challenging as the close combat levels of the Nioh series in my opinion. I would love more Nioh a.s.a.p. ;)
