Helldivers 2 Sales Are Actually Increasing, Again

Helldivers 2 will just not stop selling, apparently. The co-op focused shooter is close to being a month old, and by this point, most games have seen their sales numbers fall off a cliff — but not Helldivers 2. In what is an extremely rare occurrence, sales figures have continued to rise in the US.

Very nice. Truly fun game. Also, you can see here that modesty pays off. And by modesty I am referring to the pricing. Everyone should be taking note.

How can we determine that? We have like one data point??. Personally I would've bought the game even if it was 60$

Don't get me wrong the game still would have been successful at $60. But I feel that the quality of the game mixed with the lower price really helped cement this as the hit it became. Keep in mind that at $40, there are probably a ton of people spending the extra $20 on super credits. So it really balances out. They captured the price sensitive market and they captured the market willing to spend on a quality product.

To be fair it also cost less to develop than so-called AAA (and "AAAA"...lol) games. It is also a GaaS title so it will generate revenue that way. Any GaaS game that is sold for $70 is objectively a ripoff.

I’ve told my friends to get it, it’s word of mouth. Game is just fantastic, no amount of comments from butt hurt console war losers can change that. It’s literally a FUN game to play, EXTREMELY fun.

I've heard this compared to Guitar Hero. It released to a decent launch and then word of mouth spread like wildfire. Then it became a phenomenon.
