Never got into Exodus, but 2033 was excellent.

kevco33450d ago

Yeah, Exodus just didn't grab me either, sadly.

I absolutely loved 2033 and Last Light, however. Played them both on 360 and then again with the remasters!

I just started it and it is already miles better than the first 2 which are dated.

Kinda reminds me of miasmata also with how the navigation works. Not to miasmata's extent but definitely in the same vein

Best VR Game of 2024

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "Now that Meta Quest 3 and PSVR2 have had a full year on the market, there's a clearer window from these platforms in the long run. Like the console space, there's less of a unique ethos between them and the older SteamVR – other than their headset shape and controller configuration. Of course, that's not universally the case, as there is one exclusive that made our 2024 shortlist. But the overriding theme across VR platforms last year is one of substantial iteration & familiarity versus world-changing revolution & exclusivity. With that in mind, let's take a gander at our finalists."

No question about it metro was amazing

coolbeans110d ago

I still need to complete it, but it's genuinely one of my favorite surprises of 2024.

I have this game and have not played it yet. I have been playing a lot of mixed reality games lately. I will definitely start this game today as I keep hearing how good this game is.

thorstein110d ago

Have you tried Octopath Traveler in mixed reality?

Un f-ing believable!

It's an absolute shame that Arkham Shadow is locked behind the Quest 3. There's really no reason that Quest can't do a PC desktop version for those on a Q2. They used to support their desktop app platform more. It would potentially run better anyways. I'm just not ready to upgrade my headset yet, as i have had it just short of 2 years now. When I can, i always opt to buy my VR games on Steam.

Btw, I'd add Subside as an honorable mention too. While not very gamey, it was the most incredible VR diving experience I've had to date, and finding/collecting all of the collectibles was actually a ton of fun, as it unlocked diving upgrades.

coolbeans110d ago

Appreciate the Subside recommendation. I'll have to check that out soon.

Theres a demo for Subside (on PSVR2 2 also), quite immersive and beautiful.

Review - Metro Awakening (Meta Quest 2) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "The immersiveness, great production values and excellent plot made up for many of its shortcomings. At times, Metro Awakening feels borderline revolutionary, offering AAA-quality storytelling and attention to detail to a small device like the Quest 2. Sadly, the gameplay is a bit too clunky. Between the camera limitations and poor combat, I was mostly enjoying the plot and fooling myself into believing I was inside the game’s setting, not the horror or combat sections themselves. With a few patches, this can easily become a killer app for virtual reality in general. As of now, it’s still pretty good, but I would recommend it to die-hard fans of the franchise."
