The Nerd Stash: "95% out of 537 game studios are developing or maintaining a live service game as it is necessary for long-term success, according to a report."
Despite all the hype, marketing, development time and resources behind them, these blockbuster titles would disappoint fans.
The Order 1886 wasn't disappointing.
It was great.
Maybe do an article about Games Journalists Lied About. That would be a good read.
Sure, the campaign was terrible, but MW3 isn't even the top three most disappointing COD games...
Suicide Squad being at number 2 or even in this list seems like a freebie - its existence alone was disappointing, I don't think many people actually had positive expectations for it near release.
Not having Starfield at all feels like they're ignoring a huge conversation of last year. Even as someone that likes the game, ignoring its reception is head-in-the-sand at best and its restrictions were magnified by its release alongside Baldur's Gate 3. The disappointment many feel about it FARRRRR exceeds any disappointment people have for random third party titles like... Biomutant, and Exoprimal... Same could be said for reception around Forza Motorsport.
According to leaks, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's future seasons will see the return of Batman as well as Arkham's Deathstroke.
So our Batman is actually dead then and died in such an awful way after everything he went through.
Meanwhile their big plan is to revive a version of him from a Medieval Elseworld
Wow. They really ruined the Arkhamverse in a single game.
Medieval Elseworld really that sounds like a bigger mess then what the game is. Kudos I have respect that Conroy made some last voice recordings as Batman. But I am still not touching this game I myself I don't do loot and shoot and live service games.
Lmao must have been some jealousy management had towards the OG rocksteady guys, forcing them to make thus trash and ruin the arkham verse smh now I know we will never get another legit batman title cause the bozos ruined it smh
Season of the Joker offers little new story content, a recycled boss fight, and a repetitive grind to unlock its new playable character.
Having to do 1520 missions to finish the battle pass is perhaps the worst battle pass given by any Triple AAA company so far o_O
Repulsive last-ditch effort to get some cash, you've got some funky illegal shit dropping in the storefront though, launching discounted emotes from 1,700 ($17) to 850 ($8.50)
8 Yrs for this shitshow.
Sill one ugly looking Joker right up there with the Leto Joker. And this Joker still looks like he pitches left field.
Possibly the ugliest joker of all time, at least that's something this game will be remembered for.
Have fun with flops and lay offs....
This could cause the 2nd crash
What's sad is how we went from expansions, to where we are now. The promise of "support" for games was never truly realized during the PS360 gens. Most games had MP shoehorned into em to have em "supported" with 15 dollar map packs. And when we did get SP DLC they were 10 dollar 40 minute long content. Now they purposely ruin games to "support" em with over priced skins and occasionally add more for people to do which turn out to be reskin/reused content. Why is it that people never complained about Oblivion's/Fallout 3/New Vegas/ Witcher 2/3/Cyberpunk's 30 dollar expansions?
Simple just stop buying this slop and it will stop.
Abhorrent really. The greed is disgusting in this industry and these a-hole publishers are ruining the hobby. I have yet to see a GaaS game where I feel like it’s on par with a traditional game and the stubbornness to keep cranking these out feels like it’s out of spite due to consumer backlash.
Why in the world would I want a Suicide Squad over Arkham City or Knight? Look at Square’s Babylon Fall… oh wait, you can’t. What about Avengers… oh wait, that’s delisted. Remember when BioWare went GaaS, because I sure wish I couldn’t remember.
Until a game feels substantially finished and like a traditional game, I will not believe in a GaaS game nor want to support it. You have to ask yourself what is the point of the GaaS model vs a traditional game? Is it to make a game better or is it to monetize a game that requires a consumer to continuously dump money into it?
Maybe I’m just too old-fashioned and am stuck in the way of the old days when you paid a single lump sum of money and got a fully realized game from start to finish. Seriously though, where did this industry go astray? Why is it we’re here and I don’t want to hear it’s because games cost too much to make. I literally sat here and watched the Arkham Knight vs Suicide Squad comparison vids and I am not seeing anything justifying the increase in development costs. W’e’re supposed to be moving forwards not backwards.
