Visions of Mana is a new title in the beloved Mana series coming in 2024, but will it be enough to satisfy the long underserved fanbase?
MonsterVine: "Visions of Mana offers a modern action RPG experience with stunning visuals and smooth combat, but its predictable story and lack of innovation hold it back in a crowded year of exceptional RPGs."
Visions of Mana is an excellent reintroduction to the long running franchise, bringing it back to what fans fell in love with.
After almost two decades with no new console game except rereleases, the Mana series has a new chance with Visions of Mana. Born from a partnership between Squre Enix and NetEase’s subsidiary Studio Ouka, the game is a great way to showcase what the lighthearted action RPG franchise has to offer.
I dont know ...
how well did the remaster do ha.
It's SE at the end of the day.... The last main game was a remaster that was actually quite good, but also very by the books. And the last game in the franchise was a mobile title that managed to survive for only a year before being shut down.
And the rest of SE output has also been very hit or miss in the last decade.
I’m huffing a lot of hopium for this game
I think it will satisfy existing fans, but is it going to GROW the brand? Probably not.
Unless they're willing to pump the same money that Bandai Namco did into "modernizing" the Tales series with Arise, into this, it ain't going to happen.
It resembles too much with tales, let's hope it delivers, is way different from what Mana series used to be, art and visually speaking.
