I hope this is true. I have slow internet so playing it natively when streaming doesn't work well would be great

ABizzel15h ago

I’ll believe it when I see it.

This rumor has been going on for almost a decade now, and nothing.

The hardware and specs are there for native emulation, it’s just up to Sony to see if there’s value there to do it, if they want to spend the engineering and budget doing it, and will fans actually use it.

One thing I have to give Xbox is the amount of effort they put into backwards compatibility and allowing games to run at better than native settings, even if it’s a limited version of the library. That’s one of the few things Sony can learn from them, and if the old code is still there for many of these games (at least the exclusives) it would behoove Sony to work on some PS5 / PS4 remasters / remakes of some of these games with PS4/PS5 level graphics.

Infamous 1+2 playable on the ps5 or even 6.... that's all I want.

ABizzel12h ago

An Infamous 1&2+Festival of Blood Remake would be great, along with, MGS4, RE5 (it’s inevitable), God of War 1 - 3 (just for sales and old school fans), and maybe a few others. Everything else would probably be best just emulated with FSR to boost resolution to 1440p or 4K up from the 720p era, and hopefully fps boost allowing 30fps to go to 60fps, and 60fps to go up to 120fps.

One can dream.

VersusDMC1h ago

RE5 already has a PS4 version that can be played on PS5(6 bucks CAN right now). As well as RE0, RE1 remake/PS1, veronica, RE6 and both revelations.

Relientk777h ago

I hope so. The more backwards compatibility the console has and more games it is able to play the better

Number1TailzFan7h ago

Would be better if all of them worked rather than selective, probably means certain ones like The Simpsons game won't be compatible.
