I'd like to know if I stop playing a game and power down/suspend the Portal, how long from pressing power on can I play again. When I'm about the house I get interrupted a lot and don't want to wait more than a few seconds to get back into it

I do believe there's a few minutes connection time. Same as if you use the remote play app currently

If you power down/suspend/disconnect from remote play you can reconnect instantly and even if you were in a game the PS5 will suspend the game so you can start exactly where you left off.

I mean it takes 5-10 seconds for the handshake with the console but that's it.

Because those are different environments technically and, likely, there is no way to make third party hardware as seemless.

Yeah it'd be essentially instant. It's been basically instant with any remote play option. I'd be more worried about your upload speeds cause despite having fast net, I've never had a good experience with remote play regardless of the device I've used.
