Michael Kitchin writes, "If you're in the mood for a good story, Cats and the Other Lives should suffice. Whilst the game does take place over three long days, very little of it feels wasted. There's a lot to discover about Bernard and his family whilst Aspen provides plenty of opportunities for mischief. The puzzles are incredibly simple but I did find the few chase sequences to be a little irritating. Not enough to dampen my spirits, though. I feel the narrative is well crafted and characters are nicely developed."
Review - Cats and the Other Lives is clever and inventive; having a cat as the protagonist and finder of narrative is excellent
I simply don’t understand cats. But the cat in this latest game looks to be a bit more interesting, piecing together a narrative decades in the making. Find out what in Cats and the Other Lives, out now on Xbox.
"In what seems like a heartbeat, 2022 is now in full swing and already filled with ample gaming promise. Titles like Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring already have gamers aboard the ray-traced and perfectly rendered hype train, eagerly waiting to see what modern marvels are in store this new year. But down the quirky and colourful virtual tracks of indie gaming, there’s a different hype train rolling by. No less intricate in its design, but with a more ‘92 than ‘22 kind of flair. The pixel art hype train!" Pixie @ Thumb Culture
