RoboCop: Rogue City brilliantly captures the aesthetic of the late 80's film franchise, but does it make for a fun RoboCop game?
RoboCop is back with a standalone follow-up to Rogue City this summer.
such a fantastic game. and it plays great on the portal. If they ever add a VR2 support, then it would be perfect.
This was such a great game, wished I played it sooner, but then I wouldn’t have the joy of discovering something everyone else already knew. So much fun that I actually went after the platinum and got it, although it’s really not difficult to achieve.
I will be waiting and watching for the release of the dlc for this great game.
Still a bit miffed they weren't able to perfectly recreate the auto9 sound from the first movie. It's a distinct sound and they just do not quite get there.
First game was great! My pile of games is ever growing but I’ll throw this on the pile sometime this year
Playing the base game now. It's clunky but kinda fun.
I'm streaming it actually. Went screwy during my second session but the other two sessions have been fine.
Protect the streets of Detroit, survive a family of horror icons, and turn digital detective with April’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup. RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory will be available to PlayStation Plus members from April 1.
Yesssss. Been wanting to give Robocop a whirl! Getting 80's nostalgia-slammed this month it seems, I guess I'll give Texas Chainsaw Massacre a shot too. Dad had me watching that stuff at like 7 years old back in the 80's. XD Game on!
I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised with Robocop, one of my favorite games this gen
RoboCop and Digimon are good games. I don’t know much about Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I ffigured it was a multiplayer game and wrote it off.
I got rid of my copy of Robocop after finishing the game. Now I can get it through Plus to play the dlc releasing this summer.
RoboCop: Rogue City, developer Teyon's warmly received take on the iconic action movie series, is back with a standalone sequel - titled Unfinished Business - that's launching this summer on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Sweeet, more Robocop is awesome news.
One of my favourite games of 2023, it helped get rid of the bad vibes and disappointment Starfield left. I really had a blast with this game, keep jumping back in since I finished it as it has such a good gameplay feel.
Saw this on PlayStation Blog yesterday. The first game was really fun albeit a bit simple but it felt like RoboCop. I’m in for the sequel as long as they have a physical copy available like the first game.
A welcome surprise for sure. I recently rrpurchased the game on my PS5 for around $9. I had it since launch on my Series S but at that price I double dipped.
Great news, so happy to be getting more of this game which to me was one of my highlights of 2023 / early 2024 but hoping this springboards into a full sequel for launch in 2026
The game has a real charm to it. A little more polish overall, especially with the voice acting and enemy a.i and it could be a truly AAA experience.
Hmm... well i had fun with the demo and should be getting the PS5 version in the mail later this week.
Soooo... quantum error is better...gotcha!
"The searing social commentary of the original film is absent,".... whoaaa STOP RIGHT THERE. wtf? The entire intro segment was exactly that. Not to mention it's in the surrounding characters, npc dialogue, and environmental design, and other various elements. How far into the game did you play, or did you even? Is this another one of those half-assed kinda-played-it-for-a-mission or-two or possibly inebriated reviews?
"Then there is the frame rate – often smartly disguised by the fact RoboCop moves so slowly ". - So the frame rate is hidden in his movement? Okaaaaay. I have seen zero issues in framerate. There are some minor issues with textures and enemy character model layer animations, but nothing a tweak or two cannot fix and nothing broke the game or affected the play-through experience.
The punks are common 80's bad guy fodder (good fit and classic robocop imo).
You also complained about all the thoughtless directive side missions.. um...Robocop's directives ARE ridiculous and dumb. that is the point... goes back to the "social commentary" part.
What exactly are you not getting? You DID watch the films riiiiiiiight? ;)
