Review - Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged (PS5) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "If the original Hot Wheels Unleashed was already magnificent, imagine what to expect from a sequel with more content and slightly better presentation? The changes in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged aren’t particularly immense, but it checks all of the necessary boxes: it has slightly better visuals, it features some brand new gameplay mechanics, its track editor is bigger and more varied, and it features even more tracks, cars and modes. Not particularly the biggest leap in between sequels, but the fact it’s even better than what was already one of the best racing games in recent memory is enough to make me recommend it, without a shadow of a doubt."

Ghostwire Tokyo has actually been free on EPIC before, I was actually contemplating playing it soon, great for people on PC who haven't picked it up yet though.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 sales ‘below financial expectations’

While down on expectations, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 did at least provide a positive return on investment, according to Embracer Group.

OtterX435d ago

I know they sold 1 less copy from me by not adding wheel support. I thought ok, it was an oversight for the first game, surely they'll put it in the sequel...

I was ready to buy it at launch if it supported my g29.

gamerz435d ago

Got the first one on sale and still enjoy it. Not sure I need any sequels.

CobraKai434d ago

I feel the same. I was still playing the first one, haven’t unlocked everything yet, and it’s still a great game. The sequel came too soon

badz149435d ago

the sequel was released way too soon

Trilithon435d ago

just watched the ign review cause this stupid article has no videos and wow. lol, they actually said the graphics were "remarkable"

BrainSyphoned434d ago (Edited 434d ago )

Looking at the video they are quite remarkable. For an indoor Hot Wheels game I don't really see how they could get much better.

BrainSyphoned434d ago

Wait....there are 2? Honestly must have just read whatever news came out about it as an expansion or something.

1400 people in a year.

they're even looking to sell some of their studios

jznrpg435d ago (Edited 435d ago )

They done f’d up.
Bought a ton of studios but have little operating income to keep these studios open and projects running. Never rely on a deal that’s not finalized.

They made the biggest mistake that you can make by counting on that deal going through.

I tell my kids all the time especially my teenage daughter never rely on money that’s suppose to come in the future.
Make sure you have it before spending it. Make sure it won’t hurt you if you do spend it.

But they made such basic mistakes that companies should know not to make and they have hurt a lot of peoples lives that depended on these jobs. They could have let someone else acquire these studios that they are ruining. I’m sure they are trying to sell some of them but they are going to get fleeced if they do. Everyone knows they are in shitty position of weakness

MrBaskerville435d ago (Edited 435d ago )

Whoo, I am part of a statistic. I'm making sure not to apply to any studio under Embracer, for now.
