Forza Motorsport Feels So Damn Good | Kotaku

Microsoft’s big fall Xbox Game Pass exclusive handles like a dream

purple101289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

edit- handles something similar to burnout / splitsecond

Markdn289d ago

Enjoying it but no Gt7. And very buggy multiple crashed constant graphical or physics issue. Spoil the immersion. As is also the case with Gt7 at moment lobbies can be hit or miss weather you get into them and not crash. I Do like it as a racer though.

z2g289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

dude... its better than gt7.. gt7 is straight up corny in comparison. the physics are on par if not better than gt7. the graphics and animations are superior to gt7 and most importantly it just feels like a racing sim, not a sim with a silly game stuffed into it (cafe, menus, talking heads, musical laps??)

are you playing on pc or something cuz I have had zero crashes and I've dumped at least 25 hours into it so far.

MrBaskerville289d ago

Does have a surprising amount of stutterin on Seried X, though only in cutscenes. Three times in the opening. But seems enjoyable.

z2g289d ago

uhhhh no. FMS is a sim. and this one has really good physics. actually better than gt7 to be honest and I play both games currently with Logitech g920 and g29 setups respective to console

IRetrouk289d ago

I'm playing both, forza is no sim lol

MrBaskerville289d ago

None of them are Asetto Corsa or IRacing. But both are fun, I do prefer the handling in GT7, always enjoyed how those games felt.

Hoping Forzas career mode is better than cafe mode in GT7, that was a bit of a letdown compared to earlier titles.

Forza ain't no sim fanboy

purple101289d ago

and there was me thinking, you know, going on the headline, they would talk about the physics

"The way tires grip the pavement (literally 48 times more accurately than in the previous game), the feel of the car buckling as you break into a turn before accelerating out, "

this was the only line in this review of the Grip/handling systemS

played Forza 4,5,6,7, and if this isn't, not even a substantial, but a complete different way of thinking,
then it will still handle like need for speed. Not like a track racer,

It's another writer that refuses to learn their subject matter. This is because they are a tentacle in the marketing illithid.

z2g289d ago

rather than talking shit, you should actually try it. you're making assumptions you clearly know nothing about and are basically using talking points ps fanboys use. FMS can be as technical or as easy you want it to be. that's been its biggest success story. I turn off every single assist and yes it's hard. really hard. feels closer to project cars 2 than it does burnout. fucking Christ.

purple101289d ago

I can also turn off all the assists on GT7 and spin out every corner if I wanted to.

were talking about how most people play it, semi assisted sham we say, the default.

anast289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

Is the reviewer a race car driver and a programmer too? People can only be this dumb when they are angry.

All I am asking is for the writer to interview a few hardcore racing fans and learn...you know do their F#$%& job.

MrBaskerville289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

@purple101
It is telling that the standard assist mode with least assists, still have racing lines. You have to go custom to get rid of those, not an issue at all, but still surprising.

Obscure_Observer289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

"I can also turn off all the assists on GT7 and spin out every corner if I wanted to.

From all of your previous comments I knew you were new to sim racing. You want to talk about physics when you play both Forza and GT with all driving assists enabled.

Even Asseto Corsa will handle and feel like a simcade if you have most driving assists on.

anast289d ago

There's is no evidence provided to back up the title of this article. For the love of #$%& learn about all of the aspects of the game before putting fingers to a keyboard.

Reaper22_289d ago

The game is fantastic so far. Turn 10 did a great job. I'm loving it.

What a joke... wonder how long until FM23 with RTGI is compared with GT7 on PS4, though? Also which game will look better?

Best Racing Game of 2023

VGChartz's Craig S: "2023 was something of a strange and surprising year for the racing genre, at least when it came to our Nominees for Best Racing Game of 2023. There were unexpected changes to long-established series, fruitful reunions, and highly unexpected returns. The WRC license went to EA and subsidiary Codemasters for the first time in over 20 years, resulting in one of the most acclaimed WRC titles in years; the mainline Forza Motorsport series made its long-awaited return after a gap of six years; F-Zero went one further by getting a new entry almost 19 years(!) after the last one; and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 built upon the solid foundation of the first title to create a new series that's not to be slept on."
