Bethesda's biggest RPG wound up feeling a lot smaller than its earlier ones.
Digital Foundry : Bethesda's Starfield was generally a well-regarded RPG, but the game's 30fps target on consoles was the subject of some controversy. The game's massive scope arguably justified that 30fps refresh rate, with only high-end PCs capable of hitting 60fps and higher, but now Bethesda has changed course and opened the floodgates on Xbox Series X consoles following significant optimisation work. Players can now independently select performance and visuals modes at arbitrary frame-rates. How exactly do these new combinations fare, and is 60fps really a possibility after it was explicitly ruled out before?
Starfield’s latest update is here and it’s bringing several new features with it!
Bethesda has just released the latest update for Starfield and players have discovered that the game is still incredibly broken.
It will never be running as expected, because these fixes are mostly for the compensation of the series s lol. The games legit compromised Already.
Gotta hand it to Bethesda.
One way to avoid laying off QA staff is to just not have any at all!
I really tried to get into this game as I love Bethesda games. Put 40 hours into and even bought the 100$ edition...but this game just isn't good. It's an ok title at best. Dosnt have any of the charm that elder scrolls or fallout has. It's incredible how bland this game is despite having the opportunity to create a whole new universe..literally, and they give us this mostly human universe with the same things to do over n over just on a different named planet.
They had such a huge opportunity to give us this incredible universe akin to star wars and instead made it bland af. It saddens me a bit cuz I truly tried, and i love Bethesda open worlds. Maybe shattered sky's helps? Idk. To me the core of the game is just not good. The only thing I truly liked was the ship building.
Still not an excuse for artificially making player progress a snail's pace grind fest. Every moment to moment gameplay segment should matter.
This is just more from Todd "excuse maker" Howard. Todd "It just works" Howard.
If he's drifting away after month today then the game did its job. DLC is still yet to release along with additional content. This is only the launch phase of SF just like ES and Fall Out.
Btw I keep hearing something about SF is a LS game? It's definitely 100% not a LS game. Never once pitched as such and it literally can't be LS is always online MP experience. I dont know who or why someone on here made that crap up but I'm not surprised someone would.
I drifted after 40-50 hrs, still haven't finished the main story line either.
I'll wait for some updates to come through then go back to it, but for now it's forza then SM2 and AW2 ohh and mario wonder
I’m almost there too after 47 hours. And I don’t expect to return as often over the years as I have with Skyrim on every major platform since the PS3. The RNG aspect is too predictable and the fast travel / loading all the time breaks up an already somewhat barren and slow paced walking experience. It’s a good game but it’s just not up to Bethesda’s typical experience “density” IMO, and that’s left me kind of bored of hoarding and rinse/repeating.
I gave up may return in a year or so. I just can't get into it at all.
