I don't know if they are "the future" but I definitely wouldn't be against having some more sprinkled between the big full games. Lost Legacy was brilliant!
What? It's a "expansion" pack, they used to be common.
And Lost Legacy was fantastic, it has more content that a lot of full priced games and they sold it for $30 and gave it away for free to people who bought the Premium Edition.
We can only hope other companies will make "DLC" that's as high quality as what Sony has done with Lost Legacy, Frozen West and Burning Shores.

Lost Legacy was one of my favorite games of the last generation. Eagerly awaiting the announcement of a sequel, but it doesn't seem like that'll ever happen since Playstation is more focused on GAAS.
