Korean neo-noir action game, Tiger Blade from developer Ikimasho, launches exclusively for PSVR 2 next month.
Looks cool. Japanese style cool.
Meta wasn’t the only company churning out VR news this week with the unveiling of its long-awaited Quest 3 mixed reality headset, as Sony tossed out a slew of PSVR 2 game announcements and updates for its surprise ‘VR Day’ on Thursday.
Yup. Sony keeps adding more and more. Over a hundred games to choose from and it's not even a year yet.
I'm sure PS5 gets 100 shovelware titles every month. Quality over quantity. How many of these PSVR2 games are actually worth playing? Maybe 10-15?
I'm still waiting on a reason to buy psvr2. I was an early adopter of the original psvr and this time around I'm not falling for the hype. They're going to need to release actual AAA games and support them for me to spend $750cnd. Yeah that's right Canadian's pay $750 for a peripheral with boat load of shovel wear.
@Notorious There is way more awesome VR games than meets the eye. You are looking at their games on a flat screen. So you think they are shovelware but you really can’t say that until you play a VR game iN VR. As of right now, some of my favorite games of the generation are VR titles. Hope that helps.
True, but they only need one game to *really* pique people's interest: Half-Life: Alyx. I'm still shocked that port hasn't been announced yet.
@jacbnimble we get it, canadians don't know how currency exchange works.
@NotoriousWhiz I have had PC VR for years it has most of titles on any platform and even still there is not that many great games. there is dozen good games and experiences. All in this VR showcase look pretty decent so I would not say that they are shovelware. I would say that there isnt even 100 VR games currently on PSN and you think there is 100 new shovelware every month...plz. @JackBNimble Actual AAA games, do you even VR? Like true true AAA quality vr games even in PC VR is like maybe 5 or so, your expectation is not very realistic. Would it be great and good for VR, yes. Possible yes, but very unlikely.
Oh yeah baby
Arizona sunshine 2. Farpoint 2. And a price drop. Please. Already own a ps5 and a copy gt7 - we ready out here
Arizona Sunshine 2 got announced months ago. Is coming quite soon
Yeh but farpoint 2 is Mia. I fail to believe one of the best psvr games isn't getting a sequel. The developer made it In 2017. Another metaquest game in 2021, so now's the time for a new farpoint. Fingers crossed.
As an owner of PSVR2 and an “avid gaming news” reader, if that’s a thing.. I knew absolutely nothing about this until now. Well done Sony another great job at marketing this. Reading this article though, seems like I didn’t miss much anyway. Considering Astro did so well I’m really surprised no one else has really had a go at a proper VR platformer. Playing that on the original PSVR is what made me a believer. I haven’t felt like that since.
I'd consider buying with a flipping Astro port.
I think at this point, if Sony really want to push VR, I'd probably would want to start working on a unique PS showcase made specifically for upcoming VR games.
Valve did that with Half Life Alyx and then what? Nothing happened.
Half Life Alyx went on to be considered one of the best VR games and for me personally one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had, I wouldn't say that it made no impact. The real crime for me is that it still hasn't been announced for PSVR2.
This is good. I want to see some 1st party VR games tho. At least a couple. Come on Sony.
Angry birds! about time.
The future is here.
I fail to see why ppl are happy about this Wasn't the PSVR2 made to play games with PS5 graphics or premium PC experiences? I'm pretty sure that I had many arguments about the PSVR2 wire and all the usual crowd defending Sony with "it's a small price to pay for having REAL power" But today PPLS are happy about playing the same games that are gonna be offered on the Standalone Headset Instead of really asking Sony about making real news VR games. If PSVR2 wants to succeed it needs to do something different from Meta's because I doubt that ppl are happy to spend $ for a premium VR headset just to play what's offered on a cheaper standalone no wired solution.
Yeah. Because the graphics, sound, physics, objects onscreen, haptics, etc are going to be exactly the same on stand alone. There are many games on PS VR 2 right now that are better looking, better playing and not possible on Quest. There isn't anything that matches GT7 or RE8 or the upcoming RE4 Remake VR on stand alone. Kayak on PC and now on PS VR 2 is not possible in the same quality on Quest. Games like Project Wingman won't be possible on Quest. Not only that, but there isn't any killer apps for pass through launching on Quest 3, no room scale games launching. No hand tracking games built by Facebook launching on Quest 3. And the same attack on PS VR 2 for getting better ports of some of the best games is also happening on Quest 3. Ports of existing games. Not one big AAA game announced. Look at Quest 3. Not one big game announced for it when it launches from Facebook. Asgard's Rath 2 looks downgraded from the original that came out on PC. Creed doesn't even look exclusive anymore. Probably timed. It's funny Sony gets hit with these narratives about games when games are coming. Some of the titles I mentioned above are exclusive to PS VR 2 and won't come to Quest. So, that is Sony doing something different. You just want to see what you want to see. Want to know what I also see? That 2 TRILLION dollar company not capable of producing high fidelity VR like they lied about then cancelled. Now they are offering Xbox streaming to Quest 3 and it's not even any VR content. Just a waste of time and another subscription. Going to laugh at you when the big guns get announced.
Here's a simple argument that you can't escape Shadow for how much you want to throw mud at all instead of looking at Sony Facebook isn't a gaming company! PlayStation is! Who's in the business of selling video games? Who's the king of AAA single-player games? So why are you asking for Quest AAA gaming experience? Here's a reminder of what YOU used to say last year: "What Sony has over Valve, over ByteDance and over Facebook, is first party and support from other parties. Sure. Valve can make a great game. But it takes them years to make **one** game. Steam gets early access games. But it's like playing a bunch of demos. No curation. VR needs to get out of the tech demo phase. Valve doesn't have third parties making big VR games on Steam. ByteDance has TikTok. And a bunch of followers. But what first party do they have? What connections do they have with game developers that allow them to compete and stay consistent in releasing games? No history... Now, compare those companies with Sony. Sony makes movies, music, games. Sony has almost an unrivaled first party... The clear difference is Sony and the games they bring. It's the most obvious thing that stands out." https://n4g.com/news/250852...
"I fail to see why ppl are happy about this Wasn't the PSVR2 made to play games with PS5 graphics or premium PC experiences?" There's nothing wrong with these simpler looking games though. If you want AAA, these won't help you and won't hurt you either.
I got the PSVR2 on release day, haven't played it in months and I haven't seen anything on the horizon that excites me. Sony needs to get Half-Life Alyx ported.
I'd recommend PAVLOV, I literally got addicted to that game
