With just a few add-ons you can create your very own Flight Simulator 11 a year or so before the real sim comes along. Boomtown.net has posted a feature looking at some of the best expansions currently available for the Microsoft sim.
From the article: "Active Sky Advanced ensures that the weather where you fly matches the real world weather conditions there as much as possible. It does much more than that though, it enables you to fly in weather conditions from past dates, simulates hurricanes, allows you to drag and drop weather conditions onto the map and check flight plans against weather conditions."
Microsoft Flight Simulator is a game that you have to play to understand just how incredible of an experience it is.
Fantastic in game detail! I am having a blast with this. Can't wait for the Top Gun DLC.
A case of love it or hate it. In my case when I tried it on pc it takes a bit too much consentration and learning to actually have quick fun. Also can't really keep over 100 gig game in a hard drive to just fly couple times a week somewhere for a moment. Not for me.
The World In Even More Hands.
There are so many flying accessories made for the MFS X that you can probably find a counterpart for every instrument on a real cockpit.
The authors of this piece does that, showing all the equipment you can buy for MFS X to recreate a real plane cockpit in front of your PC.
