Starfield for free. Poor game retailers, nothing to earn.

EvertonFC267d ago

and or xbox bleeding money, they aint getting anywhere close to there money back on starfield, hellbalde 2, FMS etc etc.

Lightning77267d ago

Allot of people paid 100$ to play the game 5 days early. I'd say they're earning quite a bit.

The 5 Day early access seems to work out well for Xbox. FH5, Infinite now Starfield.

@lightning

Its also possible that they only paid $30 for the premium edition Upgrade rather than the $100 for the Premium Edition Game itself

Those upgrades also work when the base game is from gamepass (though obviously you still need GP to play it)

Its a rather decent deal considering that also gets you the upcoming DLC whenever it eventually releases and for MS/Bethesda, they still make money despite the game being on GP

OptimusDK267d ago

Makes no sense are you Bill Gates or something or why do you bother it’s all good for gamers even you as a Sony player. It just means competition which is all good.

thesoftware730267d ago

More people subbing GP is earning money, as well as all the steam owners, and the early access players.

Just shush with that tired take on MS games. It is clear that there strategy is about GP subs, MTX and PC realese, and GP is doing pretty well last report on money they made over 3billion, I would bet that number went up since then, and will go up some with SF.

There are even N4G PS diehards that bought an Xbox and/or SF. Get over it and stop worrying about MS pockets...it's old at this point.

Profchaos267d ago

@lightning yeah the 5 day early thing seems like backtracking on the whole gamepass day 1 premise. Technically starfeild was not on gamepass on day 1 they just wrapped it up in some marketing and charged for it

Don't feel sorry for them. They wouldn't care one bit if you lost your job.

Let MS and whatever company they are doing these deals with worry about that.

thesoftware730267d ago

TY!! You get it, they just keep talking about one of the richest corporations pockets..it's so dumb.

Also, GP made 3billion in one quarter, I'm sure it has gone up since then.

Hereandthere267d ago

FREE. my friend, Thanks microsoft!

Elda267d ago

It's not free even if you're renting it monthly, there's a rental sub fee.

pezking267d ago

Dude, game pass got me through my period of unemployment so it was good to have something new to play while looking for work.

If I liked a game, I bought it later when I was employed.

The service is great and devs put their games on it for a reason.

TheExecutioner267d ago

Paid subscription, why do you call it for free?

do you get free movies when subscribe to NETFLIX?

Give them their due, Starfield and Lies of P in the same month is good. Because the last 9 months have been absolutely dire.

Minute Man 721267d ago (Edited 267d ago )

I have 3 months free...probably try some of these on PC

darthv72267d ago

Sweet... been looking forward to Lies of P. The demo was good and i hear they addressed the dodge/roll functionality to make it better.

And of course I already have starfield at the ready but cant play until later.

LucasRuinedChildhood267d ago

Solar Ash is also very good. Don't sleep on it.

Traecy267d ago

Looking forward to playing Lies Of P out of the 3 on Gamepass.

I feel like the second big update that releases late this year will do just that. Part of the story expansion is also new means of transportation on planets.

P_Bomb5d ago

A good DLC could turn some heads. The Destiny games got momentum that way too.

piher5d ago

What player spike?

I checked steamcharts through the link in the article and it went from 8,000 to 11.500, so yea 20% but when the game peaked at 330,000 It's safe to say that the actual effect of this update was negligible.

LostPotato5d ago

Doubt it'll ever get redemption. As many developers have said in various interviews it's beyond saving.

Just release the mod tools and expansion and move on.

Profchaos4d ago

Cyberpunk 2077 had some strong bones i disliked it on launch because I could see the potential I could see the strengths of what they wanted to achieve but it wasn't done yet

They didn't get the memo the game is dead and the Bethesdabots only want magic and fantasy.

Boy_the_CowRoy4d ago

Starfield fans? The game only has 9 thousand current players, worldwide! As a company you cannot waste time on creating "Major features", it is simply not profitable. Just move on.
