Starfield speedrunner smashes the game in less than three hours

Starfield speedrunners are rushing as fast as they can through the game - hitting credits in roughly 3 hours at best.

Gabrielmpf268d ago

Never understood the concept of rushing through games... Unless you don't like it and you're forcing yourself to complete it. To each their own.

EvertonFC268d ago

I understand certain games can cater to a speed run experience and challenge, however SF isn`t one of them.

Gabrielmpf268d ago

Yeah, totally agree. I do understand when they do it for side-scrolling games, like Super Mario. A game where exploration is one of the main selling points, not so much.

VersusDMC268d ago

Well i enjoyed the Resident evil speed run trophies. Going on you tube looking for optimal routes.

But i only do those kind of playthroughs after a no rush go everywhere playthrough.

it's to create record and upload as soon as possible to claim it :)

for Glory...

raWfodog268d ago

Just a different gaming option, that’s all. Not really all that different from those that permadeath or super easy. You game how you like.

FYI, I’ve never wanted to speed run either lol.

ChasterMies267d ago (Edited 267d ago )

Eventually I get bored with these games and start beelining to the end of the main story. As for these folks, well, speed running is its own thing.

Did the player win some award?

Any monetary gain?

I feel like the second big update that releases late this year will do just that. Part of the story expansion is also new means of transportation on planets.

P_Bomb5d ago

A good DLC could turn some heads. The Destiny games got momentum that way too.

piher5d ago

What player spike?

I checked steamcharts through the link in the article and it went from 8,000 to 11.500, so yea 20% but when the game peaked at 330,000 It's safe to say that the actual effect of this update was negligible.

LostPotato5d ago

Doubt it'll ever get redemption. As many developers have said in various interviews it's beyond saving.

Just release the mod tools and expansion and move on.

Profchaos5d ago

Cyberpunk 2077 had some strong bones i disliked it on launch because I could see the potential I could see the strengths of what they wanted to achieve but it wasn't done yet

They didn't get the memo the game is dead and the Bethesdabots only want magic and fantasy.

Boy_the_CowRoy4d ago

Starfield fans? The game only has 9 thousand current players, worldwide! As a company you cannot waste time on creating "Major features", it is simply not profitable. Just move on.
