Starfield’s first 30 minutes really reminds me of the first Mass Effect - VG247

Wibbly-wobbly alien artefacts that bestow visions of the future upon passing adventurers? They're like buses, mate.

-Seems like everyone thought the first 30 mins was a nice opening tease for the game, I dont want to know exactly what happens so I just skipped to the summary at the end:

"As it goes, I like this narrative framework. It’s suitably cooky and sci-fi, and not – honestly – what I was expecting from the more NASA-punk, grounded fantasy that Starfield wanted to endow. But it’s full of intrigue, and it has genuinely primed my curiosity for the full launch of the game – just a few weeks away in general access, now. It’s a good time to be a fan of space RPGs, it feels." - VG247 Dom Peppiatt Chief Editor

-Sounds good, 1 week to go.

There’s a Mako, a squad accompanying you and actual decisions that will shape upcoming sequels set at last three years apart?

Is it me or does this look bad? Maybe going the way of Cyberpunk? All hype.

I feel like the second big update that releases late this year will do just that. Part of the story expansion is also new means of transportation on planets.

P_Bomb3d ago

A good DLC could turn some heads. The Destiny games got momentum that way too.

piher3d ago

What player spike?

I checked steamcharts through the link in the article and it went from 8,000 to 11.500, so yea 20% but when the game peaked at 330,000 It's safe to say that the actual effect of this update was negligible.

LostPotato3d ago

Doubt it'll ever get redemption. As many developers have said in various interviews it's beyond saving.

Just release the mod tools and expansion and move on.

Cyberpunk 2077 had some strong bones i disliked it on launch because I could see the potential I could see the strengths of what they wanted to achieve but it wasn't done yet

They didn't get the memo the game is dead and the Bethesdabots only want magic and fantasy.

Boy_the_CowRoy3d ago

Starfield fans? The game only has 9 thousand current players, worldwide! As a company you cannot waste time on creating "Major features", it is simply not profitable. Just move on.
