But it has two x'es.... Reduxx. See? It's not only a redux, but it has dlc.... Which is an extra x.

X sold separately.

I'mma do my own thing

Omnisonne666d ago

Yeah.. more like ''Announcing BF2042: Give us another chance.. but for full price''

ModsDoBetter667d ago

Yeah I'm done with this one.
Every year since BF1 I said it would be the last one I buy at launch, but 2042 really sealed the deal for me. Absolutely garbage fire.

crazyCoconuts667d ago

I just played last week. It feels solid to be now and it's a lot of fun

zachyBROosevelt667d ago

People will disagree because that’s the thing to to but totally agree with you… competent bf game now. Not the BEST but, competent

isarai666d ago

@zach

Nope, I disagree because I disagree. Gave it a try when it went free on PS+. Competent game? Sure, but NOT a competent BF game. It feels like a decent mobile ripoff of BF. Which is to say, soulless and cheap. BF Heroes played better than this garbage and I have no nope for the series going forward.

crazyCoconuts666d ago

Decent mobile ripoff? It's got bigger maps, the best graphics so far and even includes the older games in Portal. I mean, it's not perfect, but it's still Battlefield. Also, fwiw, it's the only cross platform shooter that doesn't have goofy superheroes running around and crap like that. It tries to feel somewhat authentic

outsider1624666d ago

I loved bf3. That's my last bf game. Im currently downloading this new one since it's free. What's so bad about it? Haven't they fixed all the launch issues?

NoFanBoy666d ago

BF4,1 and 5 are all much better games.

Flakegriffin666d ago

Yeah they did. It’s in a much better state now.

TheEnigma313666d ago

There's a lil fun to be had with the game. Not worth full price at all though. I played it for free also and it was fun for a bit.

Kaozz1979666d ago

I am with you on this one. I kept buying the new Battlefield every time thinking it is getting better. After BF2042 I am done and I am not touching it again. I don't care how many updates they bring out for this game.

ModsDoBetter666d ago (Edited 666d ago )

@Crazy
@Zachy

The reason companies like EA don't change is because of this outlook. I'm glad you both enjoy it and get your money's worth but is it truly acceptable to say "its competent now" almost two years after launch, two years after they took consumers' hard earned cash?

No, its not.
Being happy with this will keep the cycle going. Every recent Battlefield entry, they overhyped it, release it with missing features and full of bugs, over promise and under deliver whilst ignoring community feedback. They apologise and say they're "committed to providing an authentic battlefield experience" and reassure us they'll learn for the next entry....they never learn. Money talks.

The issue is, BF and COD used to battle it out between Oct and Nov annually but now that COD is a shell of its former self, so is Battlefield and with MoH being killed as a franchise, there's no direct competition so we get these lacklustre efforts with a juicy price tag.

theHunter Call of the Wild is the best hunting game ever made. I understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea, it can be really slow going. But the environments (they look phenomenal, especially for a 2017 game!), the satisfaction of finally landing a Gold or a Diamond keep you coming back for more. I have over 600 hours in it, my dad in his 70's has around 1,500 in it! The only game he plays, even bought a PS4 Pro for it back in 2019 lol We get on almost every week to catch up bc we live about 4,000 miles apart overseas. New Snowy Canadian map is coming out this next Tuesday. I highly recommend this one! 👍

**I'm really happy to see Eiyuden Chronicles on here. I was about to buy that one after replaying the Suikoden Remasters recently!

jznrpg1d 23h ago

How’s the ballistics in the game? If it’s done well I may check it out.

OtterX1d 11h ago

they've gotten better with some updates throughout the years, but I wouldn't say they are perfect. But they're good enough that it's still a lot of fun. If you hang around their discord a while, you'll see quite a number of avid real life hunters who are pleased enough.

andy852d ago

Yeesh. Pretty awful tbh and the PS premium support is shocking

repsahj1d 22h ago

They should combine the premium and extra subscriptions and use the extra pricing for it.

OtterX1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

Yea, that was my biggest complaint. If it weren't for my Portal, I would have cancelled my Premium. But it looks like they've leaned in on the streaming aspect as a selling point of Premium now, instead of the Classics. :\ I do like the streaming on Portal!

Npugz72d ago

Ps plus extra has been garbage this year

KwietStorm_BLM2d ago

Firebreak has been surprisingly fun. Can't wait for the full game. And Deus Ex!

Will be giving dues ex a crack

Vince Zampella: Battlefield "Absolutely Can" Outsell Call of Duty; BF2042 Was Not a "Failure"

Battlefield franchise boss thinks Battlefield "absolutely can" outsell Call of Duty, but says they're not targeting that with the next entry.

TheNamelessOne269d ago

Feel like if that were true, we would have seen it during the BF3/4 era. Just focus first on releasing a Battlefield that's actually feature complete, well put together, that people actually want to play right out of the gate. Hoping Zampella can make this happen.

JEECE269d ago

The best opportunity was BF1 vs. Infinite Warfare. I've never actually seen a worldwide sales comparison so I'm not convinced BF1 didn't eventually win, but I do know COD sold better in the US at launch, because it was the NPD #1 that year, while BF was #2.

SonyStyled269d ago

The best opportunity was with BC2 and BF3. BF4 dropped the ball with a short campaign and bugged multiplayer at launch

Cacabunga269d ago

Release a decent game and let the mouth to eat do the rest.. you choose to release another BF4 then blame yourselves for it

JEECE268d ago

@SonyStyled

Definitely not BC2. I love the Bad Company games (even though everyone always pretends the first one didn't exist), but even though BC2 has achieved great respect in hindsight, at the time it came out a lot of casuals who bought COD every year either didn't know of Battlefield's existence or saw it as a knockoff of COD. Plus coming out in spring 2010 it was competing against MW2 (the original one) which came out the prior fall.

ChronoJoe269d ago

I mean, the title of the game doesn't have a lot to do with how it sells. The next game is not going to change things but Zampella course change the course of the series towards something that's more on track with that those big player numbers.

With that said, battlefield fans might not want that. To acquire the wider audience they would probably need to betray a lot of the series design principles. Call of Duty is as popular as it is because it is as simple as it is.

-Foxtrot269d ago

"BF2042 Was Not a "Failure"

Suuuuuuure thing little buddy...

excaliburps269d ago

In his defense, BF2042 did turn things around eventually though still falls short of franchise expectations if you based it on BF4, BF3, BF1.

trez1082269d ago

Hated it at lunch, came back a two years after and it was an absolute blast. Not sure how it did sales wise to be called failure or success but BF2042 is a pretty good game .

ElaBosak268d ago

In what way was it a failure exactly?

Outside_ofthe_Box269d ago

Microsoft would just buy EA if that happens.

8bitAssassin268d ago (Edited 268d ago )

We don't need more games ruined. It's like that company puts water on their bread before they eat it.

Inverno269d ago

Here we go again with rubbing mouths. BF has been a flop consistently since BF4, and I mean flop as in disappointing to the fan base due to the technical issues each has had and the gameplay changes needlessly made. Shut up and make a good BF before hyping up another potential disappointment.

Fishy Fingers269d ago (Edited 269d ago )

Bro gave one pretty decent interview and answered the questions he was asked. Not really his fault if people want to cherry pick quotes for "content".

Stick to reading source https://www.ign.com/article...

X-23269d ago

I don't mind them claiming BF2042 wasn't a failure so long as they learned from it and use that experience moving forward into the new game, it was terrible at launch but towards the end it got a bit better. I don't want to see the same thing play out with the new BF though because the ones who are still interested in the franchise have been pretty vocal with what they want and don't want from Battlefield.

ElaBosak268d ago

Learn what exactly? The game was great.
