A first Assassin's Creed Mirage microtransaction pack leaked, stirring up some controversy on the worth of these in-game purchases.
This looks like a good option for A.C. fans who want to game on the go. Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be launching on June 6, 2024.
Free play is never a bad thing and two hours is a good look at the game. Today, Ubisoft announced a free trial for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Assassin's Creed Mirage featured several content elements that didn't make it to the final product, such as a dog and dog master enemy.
don't buy it then
It's ubisoft, this was always going to happen.
As expected, Ubisoft made the jump and did everything right (classic AC gameplay, cool setting, reasonable campaign length, lower launch-price), then at the last minute their usual corporate greed kicks in again and they botch the landing.
This went from possible ‘Day 1 purchase’ to ‘I’ll wait for a deep sale’ …
As long as it doesn't interfere with the gameplay who cares? If this is what it takes to increase monetization in single player games. I'm fine with it. Not every single player game goes viral like Hogwarts, Elden Ring or Baldurs Gate to make enough profit. Final Fantasy 16 seems to not have met Squares targets even though it sold decent numbers. I'd rather they sell a few cosmetics to make that extra money than having to second guess making another Final Fantasy game over a live service.
Never bought a single microtransaction in any AC game and probably never will. But I know a lot of people do and if they get extra money from it I don't see the issue, it's money that they can use to fund their next game.
I'm sure there's plenty of free content as well.
Ubisoft never changes.
