Black Desert Online Player Count Resurges Up 335% Globally Following Recent Expansion Launch

Black Desert Online's player count saw a 335% increase in returning players following the MMO's recent "Land of the Morning Light" expansion.

33 thousand concurrent users seem healthy.

That won't last. It's typical for player resurgence immediately after an expansion but it will fall off over time. Depending on the expansion content, they'll likely have about the same activity in two months that they had before the expansion. It would have to be an amazing expansion to change it much at all

Indeed. I've watched a fair amount of a series called Death of a Game on YouTube, and it's exceedingly common for some kind of new content or update to cause a major resurgence in playerbase that only lasts as little as one month at times before numbers sink again.

It's exceedingly hard to pull a game out of decline in a long term fashion.

Its the free dream horse.

Watch it plummet very very soon.

The fundamentals of this game is terrible.

I'm shocked it's coming to the Xbox consoles, just seems a waste or money and time for little in return.

Vits130d ago

Well, you shouldn't. Black Desert is already available on the Xbox One, and thanks to Microsoft's streamlined game SKU management, it's highly probable that the developers simply have to press a button to make it a native port. The one that will need more time and money is the Playstation version, that will likely need a completely new SKU for the native version to work.

sounds like advertisement haha.

@gold_drake

Only the reality, unfortunately. Sony did an excellent job on the PS5 software, but they didn't put the same effort into the PSN. The way the system handles licenses is terrible.

OneLove130d ago

😂 it's been on the Xbox for a good while now

I heard this game is a pop-in simulator.
