Apple drops iTunes copy protection
Apple is to offer all the music on its popular iTunes online store without copy protection, and will start selling some songs at a lower price.
The company has announced deals with all four major record labels to provide tracks free of anti-piracy "digital rights management" or DRM.
This means that people who buy songs from iTunes will be able to copy them to as many different computers or MP3 players as they like instead of facing limits as at present.
