A schedule for all of the currently announced game conferences in June 2024, including the Summer Game Fest 2024 date and times.
For the first time in a long time I have a hard time feeling excited for these events. Maybe it's because of all these massive lay offs and closures there hasn't exactly been good news since the start of the year.
Maybe come next week I'll get a little more excited but I dunno I just can't get too excited right now
Is it just me or is there little to no buzz or marketing leading up to this compared to previous SGF?
After the way they rudely hurried people off the stage at The Game Awards, I won't bother watching any of the streams for this. I'll just checkout out a few game trailers on Youtube after they're uploaded there.
Sounds like a poor use of funds if they're spending $1.3m for services already available on multiple streaming platforms without a need to use game servers since it's a plug and play world wherever there's Internet. Probably why this year's events weren't as costly, leveraging existing web platforms rather than paid proprietary services. For the smaller teams they just streamed prerecorded shows and had timed releases in line with the stream for their trailers on YouTube.
The ESA is a beast you do not need to feed. It is a Renamed and and self-Proclaimed and then goverment-backed entity that is NOT about your video games .. Seriously stop lap-dogging the IDSA /ESA like they are some poor sap that deserves this conference. Ironically, the focus here is that they lost money. Like anyone should care. The ESA is not supposed to be about making money. WTF?
