PushSquare: “The curtain has closed on what was, in this author’s partially informed opinion, probably the strongest Xbox Showcase in recent memory.”
Looking forward to this as while E3 and the in-person shows with all of the companies are missed; it is nice to see what is coming. On June 10, Ubisoft Forward kicks off at 12PM PT/3PM ET, offering up exclusive looks at Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, XDefiant, and more.
Assassin's Creed Hexe is what I wanna hear about most. Yes I wanna play as a witch with magic during the 16 century witch trials in Germany (as per rumors). Sign me up
Sony aims to release live service PlayStation games day & date on PC and PS5, but single-player games will have more "strategic approach."
How? I’m sorry but how when they literally port their games to the PC now after not even 2 years, it’s rumored GoW Ragnarok is next.
The best thing they could have done is focus on the generation before with PS3 / PS4 titles and when it got to the PS6 then start porting PS5 games so people will want to get the sequel on the new console
Now PC gamers just wait it out because they know it’s coming
"While Helldivers 2 was released day and date on both PS5 and PC, don’t expect single-player narrative-driven games to be released in the same boat by Sony anytime soon. - This was confirmed by PlayStation’s soon-to-be co-CEO Hermen Hulst in Sony’s business segment presentation"
There you have it. Won't be 'day and date' single player games on PC anytime soon or for the forseeable future. They understand single player games are Playstation's backbone.
I was told that Playstation was doing so bad on here and on X that Helldivers 2 was going to release on Xbox and Sony was going to start releasing all games on pc day and date with playstation. Why do people constantly lie on the internet!!!!!
That's a smart move because at the end of the day playstation is a hardware business and need to sell hardware folks
In case you were curious, a Steam account transfer via will is not permitted according to an official response from Valve.
Would be nice if the article's writer looked into and reported whether other digital game libraries could be transferred over via will (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, EGS, EA app, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, Rockstar Launcher etc) instead of this half-baked piece but it's probably the same for all of them anyway
This seems like a way bigger issue than mandatory PSN account linking for PlayStation games.
So where is the outcry?
Yeh without showing any Twisted metal gameplay (or even a hint it even in development)
Without any good clear realtime marathon gameplay they have deffo lost this 'e3' period of showcases.
Thing is they probably got more up their sleeves and have at least 2-3 megatons still to show.
Perhaps naughty dog or guerilla will come.to the rescue at Tokyo gameshow. Fingers crossed.
Sony can not give any roadmap beyond 2023 except for Spiderman 2 and specific live service title. The reason is that theres nothing ready. Sony isnt holding back anything.
Sony is in transition mode with live service and waiting for Guerilla games,Santa Monica,Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog to get deeper in development.
If you look directly at the development times of games they all produced you would see none of them will be ready till much further on. Insomniac is the only one who is a anomaly with juggling titles.
Xbox has been investing and now we are seeing the harvest and it wont stop either because there are other studios that are approaching the 4-5 year mark since there last game.
Not really I thought Microsoft could put some pressure on Sony but after that. Not really. Many of the games seem very far away from being ready.
Awoed is dated, nothing scream 12 teraflops. Next Gen. Sorry but cinematic trailer aren't gameplay trailers
Again forza is the only game that seems next Gen, effects, rez, frames. The total package. Everything else meh.
There was nothing Solid about that supposed showcase from Xbox, what people seem to forget is that Sony have actually been releasing exclusives all generation, they've shown their major hitters for the year and they also have a ton of stuff that is confirmed to be in the works, that they just haven't talked about and no it's not just live service stuff.
Guerrilla Games, Santa Monica, London Studio, Bend, Naughty Dog, Team Asobi etc have all been deep in development on multiple projects that aren't live service for at least 3 years.
Well, one company has nothing to prove and the other one does.
Can you make that wild guess who is who?
