Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty — Official Trailer

Freedom always comes at a price…

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty arrives on September 26th on Xbox Series X|S.

#PhantomLiberty is an upcoming spy-thriller expansion for #Cyberpunk2077. Return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V and embark on a high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUSA President. In the dangerous district of Dogtown, you must forge alliances within a web of shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Phantom Liberty being next-gen only looks wayy better.
I think this is likely to offer the true Cyberpunk experience ... not bug riddled glitchy mess CP2077 originally launched like.

Let's not fall for their trailers again... Can only polish a turd so much.

I wish they would have just made another Witcher

Christopher473d ago

They're working on two Witcher games already. I think it's a bit selfish to ask them to abandon the fans of Cyberpunk to work on 3 of them.

Tankbusta40473d ago

I get that there are "Cyberpunk" fans but the launch was abysmal and it turned a ton of CD Projekt fans off. I truly don't care if the game is better now....first impressions are the most important. I think they need to get back to their bread and butter and possibly come back to Cyberpunk in the future

Christopher473d ago

I'm glad they're not doing what you think. But, again, they're doing what they are (DLC that was promised btw) while doing what you want. So, honestly, you can think what you want, but to complain about it while still getting twice of what you want? Selfish.

Tankbusta40472d ago

@Christopher....I am not being selfish...the game launched as a joke...an absolute joke...Its time to move on

I absolutely loved Cyberpunk. I waited until the issues were ironed out, bought a Series X, and after the updates the game was absolutely unforgettable. I still don't know how they thought they were able to pull off something so ambitious on the last gen consoles (normal xbone and ps4, HOWEVER the money that could be made on those last gen consoles? All of a sudden it makes sense.)

On the new gen consoles? It shines damn brightly. One of the most immersive games I've come across, and the bugs have been eliminated for the most part. It's short sighted and spiteful to ignore a game for a bad launch. I would rather a developer deliver a mea-culpa and fix the game up post-launch. Which CD Project has done. Just like they did with The Witcher 3! This is not new. They are a high quality and perfectionist company, they are just at the mercy of release dates, which unfortunately happens all too often nowadays in the video game industry.

Don't get me wrong! I would love a game to release in the state it should "stay" in, like in the Ps2 era. However, devs and pubs know we can do a day 1 patch now. A two week patch. As many patches are needed as long as they hooked enough people. It isn't the direction I would like the industry to go in, but I'm just a consumer... Once the game is solid, I'll buy it. Devs know that, pubs know that. Hook me on the premise, preferrably have a solid launch, and then I'm down to buy. If it takes a few patches to put the game in a good state? I'll wait to buy it until then.

This is the reality of gaming now. It's something PC gamers have had to deal with for years. But if we get a good game in the end, I'm all good. I'm older, I'm patient... Fix the game and I'll buy it.

Best DLC/Expansion of 2023

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "Whether in the form of free DLC (hello God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla) or long-awaited semi-sequels, expansions have blossomed into their own thing across every genre. A commercial & creative necessity for MMOs way back when is now a commonality everywhere. And there's great incentive behind it too; generally speaking, who wouldn't want to have the gameplay skeleton of their favorite titles utilized to explore new storylines and locations? In 2023, this comes with a cost for last-gen-only gamers in the form of Horizon Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077. Despite both titles having 8th-gen versions at their respective launches, Guerrilla Games and CD Projekt RED decided to forego the technologically-constraining PS4 and/or Xbox One consoles to fully realize their creative visions.

While that doesn't tell the full story of these four finalists, it's an intriguing factoid that marks 2023 as a turning point in cementing future titles or DLCs for only this current generation... and maybe Switch."

Good year for DLC. I’m at the last boss in Burning Shores and just wrapped the tower party subterfuge in Phantom Liberty. Chef’s kiss.

Needless to say you're eating good atm.

Can’t complain, that’s for sure lol!

God of War Ragnarock vs. Horizon Burning Shores

Ironmike254d ago

Both great dlc but for me phantom liberty takes it

Futureshark254d ago

Even though it was a remake, Separate Ways was a great slice of DLC for me.
The RE4VR update also phenomenal.
